How is this game currently?

Hi, everybody. Long time poster and much longer player of RuneScape. I played a little bit of the combat beta and I thought it was pretty enjoyable. I have a maxed account still and I'm wondering if it's worth returning to. Thanks. :3

 

I find it just fine with the new combat system. Thats just me personally alot of others will say its shit.

 

If you've got the free time and are pretty bored, go for it. EoC isn't as bad as people make it out to be. I could care less tbh. I love being 200 CB.

 

Everything now is too easy.. basicly you can buy ur exp

 

Awesome. Experience rates per hour have gone way up, destroying my need to bot anymore. Slayer is much easier to train, same with dungeoneering leaving these skills completely effortless. Mini games are dying though like BA and FOG. I for one love abilities and will continue to play legit from now on.

 

I personally hate it. Why?

-- Pking is much less populated than before
-- Staking is dead
-- Castle wars is dead
-- Clan wars is dead

These are the main things I enjoyed in Runescape.

 

Ooh... those were the four things I really liked. Are they truly dead or are you exaggerating EoC's effects upon mini-games?

 

He exaggerated a bit, pking worlds are very unpopulated though and I imagine staking would be dead now. I find it hard to believe castle wars is dead

 

Well it is all upto personal preference really. If you enjoy Eoc and enjoyed the combat system beta thing then go for it otherwise there is not much point.

My personal view on the matter is that it is good and a lot better before which is what runescape needs to help to try and attract new customers and players.

 

My personal view is a new fresh start from RS if you loved the old combat system you might have a rough time understanding the new one but all in all you will get used to it pretty fast as I did.

 

Depends if youre a fan of learning a whole new combat system that has lots of flaws

 

In my opinion, I hate what the game has become .. but not enough to stop playing altogether. I much prefer the game how it was back in 2005-2007.

But if you enjoyed playing the beta, then you should be just fine.

 

staking is completely dead, cannot say how much I hated the eoc update.

Roughly 70k people online at a time, rs is dieing.

Back in 2007 there were 600k people online at once before, nowaways when 150k log in all worlds crash from the stress.

 

I'm pretty sure rs had never had more than 250k online? Remember a lot of people grew out of it, they're trying to get a new audience, you can't blame them for that.
I prefer RS cmb since EOC, it's made it more fun anyway!

i would say its dieing, but it will once agen re-rise from the dead once it brings a new generation on rs players to the field.

 

Im also looking to re-start this game, quite a few different opinions here.

 

As a veteran since like 04 in RS. I've mixed emotions about returning back, I don't even understand what's going on right now, but maybe that will be good. I've a decent amount on cash on deck, and some time to learn.

I was never a big staker, or a pvp. However I didn't like ghasts in the wild either, so mixed thoughts there. Have they made any chances to mining, smithing or herbole in like the last year?

I have around 90's in most combat skills, and most skills over or around 70. So yeah more feedback would greatly be appericated. Also how's the current market holding up?
