How has covid impacted your way of life?

I was miserable before covid, and I still am now.

Can't say I'm loving the "work from home" culture as much as some people, easy for folk who have a massive house or whatever to say how easy it is to work from home when you have the younger generation working in shared accommodation. Sadly this pandemic has been the most tough on the poorest of our society and the rich have been only minimally impacted (this is not a rich vs poor rant, just the facts on how the pandemic has hit us all).

 

Missing seeing my friends in person and going to bars and stuff but otherwise I'm pretty fortunate as someone who can WFH. Loads of my friends were in the service industry and are on government benefits now. Luckily I'm not American so the benefits are pretty generous but they're definitely temporary. We're going to be in trouble collectively as a country come September if the benefits program isn't extended.

Also lucky to live in a 2 bedroom apartment with my girlfriend where we agreed that the 2nd bedroom would become my office, so I've got a dedicated space to work.

 

Covid has resulted in me being made redundant from my job. It has however worked out in my behalf as I am now attending college to further my grades, which in return will move me further up the ladder when I get back out to working full time.

 

Covid has given me motivation to have a more go ahead attitude to life. My social life was great but I really have learnt to appreciate the small stuff, for example, going for walks and actually soaking in stuff around me like sceneries.

 

This pandemic has given me a choose to relax more and take life day by day. I have learned many things that never was possible to learn before. To be honest, I really like how things are today compared to pre covid. Only sucky part is travel restrictions. Fuck that!

As long as there are people doing worse than me, I should not complain.

 

I work in a type of medical industry so I am fortunate to have kept my job.
I'm also able to work anywhere, office or home.

Australia definitely hasn't had it as bad as other countries and we are not as restricted with going out to eat, etc.
The most restricted my state has gotten recently is "hey, wear a mask.. oh no don't worry, not needed.. oh wait, yeah wear a mask" back and forth, but I know a few businesses had to temporarily close (like my missus work for about a couple of months) initially.

EDIT: Sorry to hear about the situation this pandemic has put you in OP. Glad to see things are looking up, slowly but surely. Stay positive!

 

i travel for a living and now cant, so dont have work :c

 

pretty much only positive:
more free time at home since not as much work as before
not wasting money on eating outside/drinking etc

 

Having a kid during this pandemic has been rather challenging, only the mom is allowed to go to all the appointments so i get updates and everything else through text or on video.
Can't really compare it though to not during Covid so its not too too terrible.

 

Personally I consider myself lucky.

Whenever the pandemic gets large my income first cuts in half, then again in half.

Working from home felt good at the beginging but I got bored now.

 

Not too much, tho I am scared of it having effect sooner or later considering the situation right now in Norway

 

How is it in Norway?

 

Pretty chill for now, however it's getting a bit ridiculous for our neighbours like Sweden. Usually where I am, we cross the border to shop there due to the cheaper prices, however if you want to cross it now, you'll have to pay around 2,000 NOK for a simple testing. Not worth it anymore. Worst part is that the stores in Norway are taking advantage of this and bumping up prices in the stores instead of decreasing them (At least in my city).

 

Not much and it seems like Romania has like less than 1k cases per day, we still have to go through like 5 bajillion hoops for school and such though(mandatory tests, masks, teachers that are nazi about covid related stuff etc)

 

Yes Our life has change due to this pandemic as financial and mental. But we hope that is message for our life to take care wisely

 

During the height of the pandemic, it impacted my life a lot but now I feel as in people don't really care anymore. I live in Texas so people don't believe in it here. I believe in it but even now I don't wear a mask anymore nor do I social distance from others.

 

I reside in Toronto Ontario and I can tell you being forced to take a vaccine and having constant lockdowns have not been good for my mental health.
