How does someone become funny?

Im making this thread to help people become more funny.
Post all your opinions.

When i was in high school most of the times i was funny because of the stuff i do unintentionally like when my threw me a piece of gum in class i dint catch it but i fumbled with it for literaly 10 seconds. Thats the kinda funny dumb stuff i use to do, but thats not enough.

Kids who are "popular" in high school these days dont make jokes like knock knocks its more like quick thinking for example there if someone sais were collecting cardboards you would say John should collect cardboards because his house is made of em. Stuff like that is the jokes people laugh about these days.

Anyways post your opinions on how to be funny because it really can affect your social status and benefit all of you guys who are in high school but word of caution Dont EVER use jokes like that in front of girls because well they might think your a bit creepy.

Were talking about starvation so serious that people have lived in a literal Trash City which is basically a dump and people have been so starved there forced to eat what they can find such as a deceased dogs head that is raw and decomposing. Only the people who take really want to know about this should read the thread. Not intended for kids as the material that is discussed shoudnt be exposed to them YET.

 

Best type of humour always relates to someone else, although it can hurt the person being targeted.

I can't give an example but generally people tend to laugh at other's misfortune however bad it may appear, even if it's not true.

 

If you want to be funny you need to able to think fast enough to get a joke in before it's too late. I was unintentionally funny in school because I was always sarcastic and it made people laugh, I'd never get a joke told about me as I could always turn it around back at them some how. I just think people aren't used to my level of sarcasm.

 

It depends, there are a few types of funny people.

Stupid Funny
The people who illegitimately do stupid shit and cant help it. I would really recommend trying to be this type of 'funny'.
I once sore a guy purposely push himself of a chair and smack his head to try and get some laughs... didn't turn out to well for him.

Quick Come Backs
Having some quick come backs to things will always get a few laughs, and i guess if this does not come naturally to you. Then you will have a bit of trouble trying to learn how to think quick.

The comedian
maybe not knock knock jokes, but telling some decent jokes will always make people laugh, Just you need to make sure on a few things;
-your jokes wont offend people. (no point telling a black joke infront of a black gang.)
-make sure your joke is actualy funny. (maybe try it with your close friends first)
-DONT LAUGH AT YOUR OWN JOKE (if you cant help this, then say it to yourself 1000 times so you get bored of it)
-Make sure the mood is right. No point trying to make people laugh when at a funeral.

I just react to the situation, not even thinking about what i'm going to say.
This doesn't turn out well always, as i'm getting alot of detention for this, but i can't help it.
Also when someone says a joke about me, i mostly turn the joke against themselves.
I'm a pretty good talker, so that's no problem for me.

 

To be funny you have to think fast and have a good vocabulary.

 

This. A funny person is generally very smart as they can change a normal situation into one that lifts the mood for everyone else.

Not a fan of people that make fun of other people for their kicks though.

 

If you make fun of yourself thats usually funny. And a joke will usually only be funny when you're still laughing at it the fourth and fifth time you tell it to yourself.

 

What do girls and lights have in common?

 

No matter how many times you try, you just can't figure out how to turn them on?

 

na, every time i'm around i always turn them on.
