How do you avoid getting scammed?

Yeah yeah, i'm an idiot; I just got scammed for 350 dollars by someone who had vouches and supposedly 1b worth of sales. For anyone who has successfully bought an account before, what are the best ways to avoid getting scammed?

in hindsight yeah i was really f-in dumb but he had a ton of positive reviews on another goldselling site called carousell

never trust those vouches on other sites.. there is alot of people using vouches from other sites which means nothing at all. mostly fakes too

Only buy off people that have on sight vouches or can prove their vouches on another site. Anyone can say they're a trusted someone on another forum.
Dont buy cheap accounts from newcomers, its not worth it.
