Skype scam?

Heya, need a second opinion before I post a report.

I was chatting with a gold seller who sold me EOC for BTC. Added him via the signature button after he bumped his selling thread. Let's say his name is Humpty and his linked Skype username is 'humpty.rs'.

Ended up sending the BTC for the purchase, but never received my merchandise. That's when I realized that I was talking to 'live:humpty.rs' instead of 'humpty.rs'.

tl;dr Question is, can the Skype usernames 'live:humpty.rs' and 'humpty.rs' only be owned by the owner of that one Microsoft/Skype account, or is the Skype account 'humpty.rs' separate and not exclusive to a Microsoft account that would create a default Skype username with 'live:humpty.rs'?

'live:humpty.rs' blocked me on Skype after repeated attempts to reach them about fulfillment of payment while 'humpty.rs' is still listed as "Away" in my contacts list.

I was a big, big, goof. Correct?

There are people who create different accounts similar such as the "live:" to impersonate other members who have services going on, they'll match the Skype name and picture as well so you'll be fooled.
Your best option at times like that is always request a pm with the actual gold seller on sythe to confirm you're talking to him.
If you get scammed by an impersonator there's really nothing a staff member can do About it.
in your scenario the account "live:Humpty.rs" and "humpty.rs" would be 2 different accounts

Always make sure the 'profile name' is the same that members have posted on sythe.
