Why do people hate RS3 so much?

As topic title says..

 

Because it is filled with microtransactions and the ability-based combat is complex and unattractive.

 

It ruined the best version of rs aka pre-eoc

 

I enjoy it, everyone has different tastes suppose.

 

People hate it because they put in huge amounts of time into their accounts only to have it wiped out from power creep and microtransactions. Jagex completely reversed their stance on critical game design policy multiple times: "No old skills going to level 120" (which was promised after the release of dungeoneering), "We don't want player's real life status to affect their game progress" (removed from the anti RWT rule after the release of buyable squeel of fortune spins), "No more new tradeable discontinued items" (Fish mask, black santa, christmas tree hat, etc added to squeel/treasure hunter).

They are monetizing the game by holding players' previous achievements hostage. Worst of all, however, was the EoC update which was met with universal disgust during beta, yet they continued to develop it anyways. Instead of mindless passive combat where you click and wait, they changed it to mindless active combat where you click, spam number keys, and wait.

 

Rs3 full of elitist fucks. They circlejerk each other over efficnency I hate it

 

Have you never heard of EHP Athletes on 07? These are the worst type of people.

 

I just don't find it to be the MMO that Jagex claims it to be. Back in the day RS2 had like substance, this has just an overload of useless activities and items.

I personally think the gfx on RS3 is mind-blowing. Regardless of how I feel about the content. RS3 is actually the reason I use RuneLite to make my OSRS look more HD.

 

The majority of the people that dislike rs3 played before the forced update

 

i logged in fresh account recently and got level 21 in a skill without training it in a week just from treasure hunter didn't even buy keys

 

people dont like RS3 because many of us spent years of our life creating a character and memories in RS2 only to have jagex completely rework the game to cater to MTX, as well as make the game much easier and thus devaluing the accomplishments made by veteran players. The game just isn't what it used to be.

 

1 and only reason , since people used since 2002 for old runescape , the new rs3 start being too over ..

 

Personally:

EOC ruined everything I had. My bank, my pure, my friends and clans.

I never recovered.

I do not plan on returning at the current state. I cant stand MTX on my pie.

 

Because, its just not runescape anymore

 

I played Runescape pre-2007 and while I hated RS3 for a while due to EoC primarily, I've gotten used to it and I really enjoy it as its own game. I've moved on from just "Runescape" and I basically consider rs3 its own new game that happens to be really fun and similar to the original runescape in a lot of ways

 

I just don't have the nostalgia for it, I think it is complete garbage.

 

Lets say you started in RSC (and played often), you probably view RSC as the best time of RS. Or 04-07 the RS2 era, 08-10 the RS2.5 era, and anything past that RS3 I think idk haven't touched it.

You will always view your favorite time period through rose tinted googles. You will have not seen or ignored the problems with that current version.
You were most likely younger and naive.

I view RS2 as the best time period, but it seems like a large chunk of the player base really like 2.5-3. (check out OSRS, its basically 2.5-3 at this point.)

So people say "removal of pking and no trade limit in a game based largely on social interaction is what I liked the most!" and will defend 2.5 as if it was a good game.

You see, RS has it's own unique genre, an experience offered by no other game, at least on the same scale. RS3 just looks/plays like a cheap korean P2W MMO.

 

It's not my taste personally, but we do still offer services for it for others that want work done.

Other than that, bonds are always nice ^_^
