How do I know if I like a girl?

Yeah that's enough time, just say "hey how's it going, we haven't talked in awhile" have a little small talk after that, and then as the time is winding down just be like "shit, I have to get to class, what's your number? I'll text you."

Make sure you say the number part how I said it, do NOT ask for the number, don't be like "hey, can I get your number?" You have to say it with confidence and a kind of demanding way, but at the same time, not aggressively, the way I said it should work.

 

I appreciate the help and advice a lot man, I guess theres no harm in trying and seeing if I get rejected or not, but the thing is if I get rejected, i'd feel so embarrassed. I'm not the best with small talk either, what am I even supposed to say when I see her? (Like the usual, long time no see, how are your new classes? How was your summer?)

 

I feel like she would give the uuhhh ok? response you know, where she will give it to me but it will be like really awkward. Would I even text her after that?

You're overthinking it. If you're afraid of a hesitant response, ask a straight up question. Wanna go/hang out some time? She says yes, then follow it up with asking for her number. If no, there are other girls. Don't sweat it. Keep your cool and be confident.

Or just get her number, you get the whole "uhh ok" reponse. Then work it slowly, just say hi and stuff on your way to class, then eventually ask her out. You're better off with the first option.

 

I'll try to talk to her this week, since theres pretty much only one location where we cross each other, and ill just walk alone this time and hope she does too

 

If I just walk up to her and do the whole small talk thing, even though both of us know that small talk is meaningless and goes no where, following up with the "wanna go hang out" response will make it awkward for sure, either at that moment or when we actually go "hang out"

2nd option is more safe lol, and doesnt rush into things really. And I know that there are other girls, if I could like any other girl I would. I would actually try to go for someone who is like more in my league I guess and someone I actually see and know, but honestly at this moment theres no one I would rather talk to or be with, not to be cheesy or anything

 

If you tell her to give you her number like I said, or ask her to hang out like Apith said, and she says no, then you will no she doesn't like you and you can get over her and move onto other women. If she denies you like that, then you won't be hung up on her anymore. Been there done that back in my high school days.

At 17 you don't need to be worried about a serious relationship. Just test the waters and see what you like.

 

I can understand where you're coming from, as I am also a 17 year old in Highschool trying to make it out alive. Now there's obviously going to be certain types of girls that will have things that you have in common with her, but then again there's so many other people in the world too. Where I read when you said she's popular and gets asked to the dance's a lot, I saw this in a perspective that you feel afraid of asking her because of what her friends would say like you said "intimidated by her friends".

I too have been to that point where you talk to a girl that you really like for a short amount of time and you think that everything you two are saying is just making perfect sense (almost as you two are perfect for each other), but then the conversation stops for so long? Trust me, you will look awkward if you walk passed her and only say "Hi" or "Hey". You need to be the one that's assertive in the conversation, take control of it. Don't live your life caged in, Highschool is supposed to be the best times of your life.

Nah I quit on it, I feel like im getting depressed/stressed over it for no reason. If there is a chance i see her and im able to have a conversation yeah ill do it, but being realistic i think im done

Alright, so you say "I quit on it, I'm done." #1, there is no reason to quit before you even start, that's just pussying out man, make the effort, if it happens, it happens, if it doesn't, it doesn't. #2, If you're willing to give up on a female that easily and quickly without even trying, think to yourself, did you even like her at all? Seriously. If you truly liked her as much as you said, you'd make the effort and actually try. You don't just give up on something that you want.

PS: No reason to get stressed or depressed man. Plenty of fish out in the sea as everyone says, and you haven't even started dated her or even really talked to her. If she's getting you stressed and depressed now, imagine if you guys started dating or something, and then you guys broke up, you'd be devastated. Just play it cool and just see how it goes.
