How do i get started writing osrs scripts/bots

Hey,
I have an great idea for a osrs script.
it something that will help the community it will not effect the economy in any sort of way.
I want to write it on my own since i want to get more experience with programming.
Can someone recommend me on how to get started writing osrs scripts?
i just know that people use Java as a langauge but where do i start creating a script?
Should i begin creating a simpel auto fighter?

You want to 100% learn Java.
I took a few college classes just to get into it and really learn the syntax and what good code structure looks like.
I'm not a CS student or anything but now I know a decent amount of Python and Java and I'm fairly successful at OSBot.

Enrolling in some introductory classes I think is your best bet to really get started.

 

any tips on easy java project i could do before writing a bot. i'll try to search for a beginners guide to java. i only have a little bit of experience with arduino(c++)

 

I learned the barebone Java from the Learn Java app from SoloLearn on the google playstore. Phone app so you could take some courses whenever you want.

EDIT: works for someone who has never touched any code at all (like me)

I'd go with ahk first. Easy to write useful scripts from the start, learning about the basics of programming on the way. And then java.

just seen this as about to get into java myself i found a course on udemy.

ill update with how i find the course on there and if its any good ill let you know.

I agree with what other people have said i'd 100% learn java, however once you are a reasonable stage move onto other languages!
