What do you think of Tattoos?

Its been a year since I've thought about having a tattoo..

I've finally found something I'd like..
And I've kept that drawing with me and I still think its a good tattoo to go with.

But after finding a Tattoo Artist, I've had this sudden feeling to back off.

What I was thinking of was a Moon and a small start inside, The sign of Islam.
Im not an Islamist or anything, Its something I liked and thought would resemble me..

I just wanted to know what people think of Tattoos these days, And will I ever regret my choice to have one?

 

Personally I think tattoos are a bad idea altogether, especially if done at a young age. Just looking back at what I've done in previous years, there have been many things I wasn't content with. Tattoos would definitely fall under that bracket for me in years to come, and is the reason why I scrapped the idea.

 

I liked the idea of significant tattoos (something with meaning) back when they weren't just a fashion statement. Nowadays everyone's got one, I feel like in 10 years it'll be meaningful enough to just be someone who's never got one before.

 

I agree with this. As a general rule I think Tattoos before a person is 25 is a bad idea. Same with certain piercings and other body modifications. I personally still don't think I'm mature enough to make a forever decision like a tattoo.

 

If you REALLY REALLY want it, then go for it, but keep in mind it is forever. Also you should go with a professional and don't go cheap on it. I see a lot of people with fucked up shitty tattoos because they wanted to save some money.

 

Personally, I don't think I would ever get a tattoo, but if you want one you should go for it.

 

i don't like the idea of tattoos. They just make ur body look worst. Imagine having a sick car like a lambo or Ferrari and sticking a silly sticker on the car. It will just make it look from sexy to ugly imo!

 

Love the art aspect but I can't see myself getting one as I don't have a concept I want to stick with me forever. I understand there is tattoo removal surgery but I'd rather not go through with that.

 

Don't mind people that have them however I wouldn't get any myself

 

I dont have any at the moment and I want to get one that is meaningful to me and unique

 

I have a half sleeve, half my chest, my left sleeve is done up to my elbow, my left hand, the inside of my left bicep, my right leg, my stomach, and ribs.

Once I started, I couldn't stop. I love having control over my body to do with it as I please.

Every single one of my tattoos has significant meaning or represents something I've been through in my life.

 

Tattoos are an art of self expression. I don't have any tattoos personally, but I can appreciate people who have tattoos and I also love to hear the stories behind them.

 

Have always wanted one, also have the design ready but my parents will kill me if I get one done, so i guess i need to wait until i finally move out to get it

I honnestly don't like tattoos, some people actually judge you on it aswell.

 

I wouldn't get one personally, at least not any time in the near future. However, I don't judge people that have them/want to get them.

 

Give it time OP. I went a little ham after I got my first tattoo and got 5 more in about a year and a halfs time. Now I'm 25 and have a few tattoos I regret/kinda hate.

 

Tattoos ... I think they ruin the natural and beautiful body.

 

I am 22 right now, since i was 14 i wanted tattoes and stuff but my mom always told m,e not to, for some reason i still refuse to put a tatto on my self because my religion, you are actually scarring your body wich imo is not really good.

 

I think tattoos are a great way to express yourself.. But before you take that picture of the moon to your artist REALLY think to yourself: Do i want this on me for everybody to see for the rest of my life? Does it REALLY have a personal meaning to me? & Will i be able to take the pressure of many many people wondering what it is? My advice to you is draw out what you want.. wait a few months then look at it again.. You'd be surprised to find out you really didn't like it to begin with.. OR Maybe it has a symbolic meaning to you and you feel strongly about engraving it on your body. Either way, if you love it or hate it you can always cover it up or just add more to it.. Tattoo artists are professionals for a reason. I look at my first tattoo and although it isn't exactly what represents me it REMINDS me of how i was at that time and what i was going through.. nothing bad i just plan on getting it covered up/touched up in the near future
