    Heya guys!

Soo first a little backstory (tl;dr to the error message if you don't feel like it).
I bought a new pc about 8 months back, had it put together by a friend of mine.
It does everything just fine, except booting up.
About 1/3 days it takes me like 5 minutes to boot it up (Mind it normally takes like 4 seconds to boot), occasionally freezing on the Windows 8 bootscreen, occasionally on a blackscreen that appears just after the motherboard image has faded.
The workaround for this problem is force-shutting down (holding the power button for 6 secs) and trying again until it works.

    Tl;dr
    The error:
    DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE

    Connected devices:
    1x HDMI cable -> Monitor
1x DVI-D cable -> Monitor (2 identical monitors, so no problems there)
    Logitech G500 mouse
    Logitech G19 keyboard
Turtlebeach X12 headset (1x USB for power and 3.5MM jacks for sound and mic)

The mouse and keyboard software is 100% up-to-date.
Turtlebeach never had any problems before, don't even think there are special drivers for it, let alone needed because it only uses the USB for power.

I'm pretty sure all my internal hardware drivers are installed properly.

    Please note:
Taking off certain USB items will not work, because the error can't easily be reproduced as it only happens on occasion.
I'm not going to sit there for 5 hours shutting down and booting up to try and reproduce it.

    extreme tl;dr
How can I find driversoftware that isn't adware, spyware or shit like that?
I don't know what drivers I'm missing, that's my problem.

If you can, take a picture with your phone or something next time the error message comes up.

Has it done this from day 1?

    Edit:
Got some lovely advice on TS from trin, ziggily and irl seller.
Unhooking my DVD reader for now, hopefully that fixes it.

Control Panel -> Device Manager -> Right-click problematic devices -> "Update Driver"
    Also fuck Windows 8

A tool that I use is called Uniblue DriverScanner. It scans for your hardware and pulls updated drivers from their database, automatically downloading and installing them for you for any outdated devices. It obviously costs money if you go the legal route, but there are some working torrents floating around. Be sure to look in the comment sections of torrent sites for valid serials as most of the serials posted with the torrent files are no longer valid.

    DVD driver was the problem.
Didn't need my dvd drive anyways, so I unplugged it.
    Thanks for the responses guys!

I'll definetely use that tool if I need it in the future Blupig, thanks a bunch
