How butt hurt are you that we didn't upgrade to Vbulletin 4?

Well I did but I voted for it anyways. I really don't care if we upgrade or not. I think performance of the site is more important than new features (which vb4 has silly new features that I don't ever use anyways).

 

I was going to write a little story about the highly ritualistic and honourable transition act, explaining the delays in a highly probable and believable (and hopefully, a bit humoristic) manner, but since you've gone out and declared that we very likely probably maybe might end up not changing to vb4 I'm a little bummed. I would've preferred for the state of the matter kept fogged so we could endlessly make fun of it.

 

In that case an apology needs to be put out for all the members that have given extraordinary suggestions and ideas only to have their threads locked by staff saying it's not worth updating anything right now because vB4 is coming soon. In fact, there's a shit load of stuff that could of been changed but was denied from people like n4no and Suf just locking them saying VB4 was coming soon and there was no use.

 

Im not too incredibly knowledgeable about vb4. My issue is that "wait until we upgrade to vb4" has been an excuse ive heard since joining sythe about a multitude of matters. After looking through the link you provided a little more and doing some googling on my own to see some less biased opinions i wish i could change my vote to change to another forum software. The excuse of wait till vb4 has worn very thin on me and many within the community. Halting progress using an old software is only hindering the sites growth, i do however like the simple layout as opposed to many other forums clusterfucked style. Please post information on the other prospective softwares, thanks

For OP just do w/e is easier for you guys, don't gotta change and have sythe buggy for 5 months straight rather than sythe running on an older version of vB.

 

Read everything and did a little research myself.

Definitely think that sticking to the current vb3 and upgrading is the way to go.

 

I think current setup is fine, but adding all the suggestions users have made in the last "year?" would be awesome, that's my "upgrade".

We could also think in some new layout, more modern.

 

I was looking forward to seeing something fresh, but if you feel vb3 is the best of the bunch then by all means stick with it. Interesting to see a serious thread titled "butt hurt".

 

I'm going to side with iJava that IPB would be a worthwhile alternative. It offers great features such as IP Content, Nexus, Chat, Blog, all of which can be utilized in one meaningful way or another. Not to mention that XenForo has been around a fraction of the time IPB has. The boys and girls over at RHQ adore IPB, so I can't imagine why we wouldn't over here.
