Personally I think it would be very confusing if it was finite. Its like saying the world is flat go far enough and you will fall off. But I dont think we will ever know with out a doubt.

I think the universe is unmeasurable.

It is just infite amount of space. A infinite black pallet with planets and stars painted in. Thats how big i think it is xD

That's the thing, though. An empty universe is comprised of what you might call space-time. There is some substance there, however subtle. However, outside the universe, there is nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Wow, thinking about this kind of stuff really scares me :(

I mean, just thinking about infinity makes me wanna cry...I agree with who-

ever said that the human mind can't comprehend infinity. But, I have to say

that the universe is infinite and is forever expanding. I mean, think about it!

Imagine, for the sake of argument, that you designed a car which will take

to the "edge" of the universe. What then? Will there be some sort of invis-

ible force blocking you from moving further? Or maybe a brick wall? :p

It scares me just to write this stuff...Really creepy...I can't comprehend it...

    Oh well.

The universe is everexpanding and will keep on expanding until it loses momentum, but in this current state there has been no evidence that the universe has begun to slow its expansion, and this is shown through the study of supernova which occur/have occured and at the rate that they are occuring ever since the Big Bang happened. How we know that the universe is still expanding is that the rate that supernova are happening is increasing and physicists theorize that if the universe continues increasing that when the time comes when everything has been stretched to its limits that atoms, molecules, everything will be torn into the smallest imaginable things, or the universe will simple collapse in on itself for a big 'crunch'

The Universe is expanding at speeds faster than the speeds of light and this has been concluded because light beams/particles of the Supernova that began the creation of this universe are only now able to be seen visibly using very advanced telescopes and the radiation waves emitted from the beginning of it all are finally being able to be detected. As for the edge of the universe.....it's simply unfathomable and if at some point in time we were able to get there, before humankind kills itself off and/or the planet we live on then it would hopefully be amazing even if it were black, and nothingness because it would be a huge feat.

BUT MOST LIKELY Saradomin is probably standing there ready to whip on smite and pk anyone's ass using Sara Strike who tries to pass ^.^

P.S. and that 'nothingness' that is throughout space is considered Dark Matter and it is what aids in the expansion of the universe...i think :O

And if there are in fact other 'races' of being out there than depending on how they cae into being, they may not even be carbon-based at all like we are, perhaps even a whole set of different elements which we don't even ave the capacity to imagine about.

If there was nothing at the end of space wouldn't the rest of the world fall into the nothingness, or are we already in nothing? lol.

I FULLY agree with Boom Headshot, The human brain cannot comprehend "infinite".

I can't wrap my head around something being infinite in size, But it probably is.

I do believe that the universe is infinite, but it is not eternal. I have heard people say that it was eternal, but to me, thats not the case. Im still learning astrology, so i cannot give complete facts :l.

    I honestly, Have no idea.

I think that what "The Viper0000" said, Could be something quite likely to the truth.

There is somthing that stops me from believing that the universe could be infinite.

I think that there is only one way to find out, Atomic is going to have to go find out (Y)

    Thanks.

space is comprised of many dimensions. To call it a certain is impossible because our perspective of size doesn't include the other dimensions.

LAWL, i really dont know what im talking about

There is no way to tell,

NASA doesn't Evan know how big the universe is, they don't have the equipment to build something that can withstand the distance or hold enough food.

Ok im not brilliant with science but.. I f you take a look at the big bang theory, It says thats its expanding well im wondering If it's not. Maybe not expanding but getting pulled part from Distant gravitational pulls from what could be something like idk a big massive sun thats has a giant gravitational pull and there could be loads of um pulling our universe apart.. Idk though i aint good with this stuff

    How big is the universe?

I believe that the universe is constantly growing,
at about 500,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 miles per millisecond.

The universe most likely will keep that pase for around 7000 billion more years to come.
The universe is undoubtably the biggist and most infinite thing that we know of.

    How big is the universe?

I think the universe is as big as Dorito. LOL.

Serious now, I think the universe has an end, but we would never reach it.

I believe it was one of Albert Einstein's theories when he said if you travel x amount of miles from A in space, you end right back at A, even if you travel in a straight line

I believe that he's saying the universe is round.

I think your missing that nothing can travel faster than light, so if it is correct that the universe has only existed for 13.7 billion years, then from the starting point, everything can only be 13.7 billion light years away.
