My Steam Account had just gotten hacked! I was added by this guy from CSGOLounge, and he told me to add his other account here on SteamComunnity !

However, I just realized after I lost access to my account [I logged in to that site thinking it was Steam, but there was this weird message that came up] that the website is called "steamcomunnitty". HOLY SHIT I had just gotten tricked cause of my stupidity.

Exactly what happened :
I clicked the link thinking it was real, but when I saw I was not already logged in, then i saw it was fake (I was logged in already in another tab). It was a random guy on my friend list saying he had not space for friends on his current acc. and fake linked to add him on another acc
^ 100% same thing!!!!!! ^

Items jeopordized but managed to trade away very quickly :
- 220 Keys
- Stat-Trak Bayonet Slaughter FN
- Stat-Trak AWP Asiimov FT
- Stat-Trak AK Fire Serpent FT
- M4 Asiimov WW

Guys, everyone watch out! I've already submitted a ticket to Steam Support, but I'm not hoping for much. HOLY HOLY HOLY CRAP!!!!!

UPDATE : I JUST TRANSFERRED ALL MY ITEMS OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm still logged in to my account on Internet Explorer, and I quickly transferred all my stuff to my friend & told Steam about it. THANK YOU INTERNET EXPLORER.

Guys,
Always ALWAYS check the links you're sent. I've learned my lesson. May this serve as a caution & reminder to all to ALWAYS BE ON THE ALERT FOR SCAMMERS & HACKERS.

damn dude, those people never stop... it started in dota2lounge like last year.. random people adding and wants you to click on link that almost likely to be steamcommunity.. and also new trick from them.. when they offer on you`re trade.. they ask you to check csgolounge(link) but also a phs link... nway dont give up hope you will get you`re acct back aslong as you proof of purchase like cd key etc.. and mostly of ur items will still remains since the idiot whoh hack u, cant trade (since it was login to new add) new update needs 7more days for them to trade for new IP... nway cheer up u`l get them bck

This happened to me before, it took a while but steam refunded all of my items because I could prove everything. They have the trade logs as well, so they see who they were traded to.

Feel for you man, so unlucky - and thanks for the warning. But this is in the wrong section, might be worth removing the link too if it was used to hack you.

I don't think the guy who hacked account will be able to move your items, since he is on a newly authorized device that has not been Steam Guarded for 7 days. he will receive a 7 day restriction from trading and the Community Market. Anyways, I hope steam support will get your account back within 7 days.

wrong, they ask for the ssfn file within steam folder to upload as new security proof.
With this they can trade instant without waiting!

sorry for ur loss, hope steam will help you out !
Always check links and always let people add YOU never other way arround!

* and patriarch would you might shortening the link or remove it, because there are dumbasses here who actually click and think " O have to login ! " even when the read this or before..

edit: thanks :D

Is it still safe for me to use my account after it gets recovered? Like, the hacker may use information on the account to try to gain it back again

I got the same thing yesterday. I clicked the link thinking it was real, but when I saw I was not already logged in, then i saw it was fake (I was logged in already in another tab). I don't understand why you don't contact steam support ...

Assuming you are the proprietary e-mail address (and they had not changed it), with proof of purchase and steam guard enabled you are fine. Make sure to change your e-mail's password as well as your Steam password! This will ensure that you are safe from any attempts of hijacking again.

Patriarch, if you had the items on your account still that means the guy never got around to trading the stuff. He obviously won't have proof of purchase that you have nor will he have any of your security questions (unless he has hijacked your e-mail as well).

This has been going on for a long time now and I am always cautious when posting any new trades on CSGO Lounge because of the phishing attempts that occur. On top of that, the people that are attempting to phish you are ironically more than likely someone else who has also been phished and the hijacker was using their account to get to other accounts (account hopping/hijacking/phishing). This gets the accounts locked and allows for access to all of the friends on the hijacked person's account.

On a slightly off topic note, I had a friend who was phished in a similar manner - He had JUST traded up to his Karambit Night. The guy messaged me from my friend's account and I almost clicked the link but got curious because my friend NEVER did anything like that. Anyways, reported the account as being hijacked and my friend got his whole account back including karambit and everything else (think he had an MW or FT Fireserpent?).

PS. This should be moved to the help section at this point as it's not entirely necessary for it to be in the steam sales section.

@Sh4rky THAT WAS THE EXACT SAME THING THAT HAPPENED TO ME!!!!!!! 100% WORD FOR WORD !!!!!!!!

@Koofal I already contacted Steam Support. I'm just jumping for joy I didnt lose $2000 worth of stuff

@szskateman My email is still safe (I think). However the Steam account's email had been changed to a weird Russian one. I have the Recovery, but Steam didnt prompt me for it at all....I have the card I used to purchase the stuff on the account so hopefully that'll get me back my account.

I'm scared of using the account anymore because it could be targeted by the hacker in the future again
