Hobbies and other interests

ITT: We discuss about others Hobbies and other interests!

I'll start, Computers have been a large part of my life since I was young. The first computer I recall using was a Commodore 64, cutting edge for computers at the time! I was too young to fully understand computers then, so I didn't really know much about them.
Later my parents bought me my first "IBM Compatible" 286 PC. This is when I learnt about DOS and started tinkering with computers.
A few years passed, and my parents bought me a 486, and eventually a Pentium I with a 200MHz CPU.
When I finished year 12, I got my first job in IT and bought my own computer. I'm a bit hazy on the specs, but it had a GeForce gfx card (one of the earlier models) and a Pentium 4 processor with 256MB RAM (boy did Windows XP chug on that much RAM.)
When I moved to Wagga a few years later, eventually the PSU kicked it in and took my motherboard and most of the other components with it, so it was time for an upgrade!
It had an AMD 64bit processor (which was pretty useless at the time as Windows XP 64bit had bugger all driver support at the time, and I'm pretty sure it never really did get proper 64bit driver support). My first decent gfx card was a GeForce 7800, which got me through many hours of Counter Strike: Source and Oblivion (damn that game was like crack!)
Eventually it was time to put that beast out to the pasture (and many Gfx card's later), and now my current PC:

Cool stuff man. Technology has always been second nature to me but I never got into the specs enough to build my own computer or anything like that.

I have tons of hobbies/interests from longboarding, hackeysack, skating, music, philosophy, reading, etc. But most of all right now I'm really studying ethnobotany and ethnopharmacology which is basically studying the relationship between people/cultures and plants and studying how plants physically/neurologically interact with the human brain, respectively. It's incredibly interesting stuff, in fact I just put up a short writing I had made while studying the other day. Very interesting stuff.

 

My hobbies are hanging out w my gf and with her family. They're the best after my family so I like doing it.

 

Recently I've been skateboarding a lot cause I used to do it some years ago. Where I live, the skatepark is right on the beach so it's always pretty busy and good way just to chill with loads of new people from all over the world in the summer - we get a lot of tourists. It's good fun.

 

Recently took up racquetball, trying out squash next week for the first time!
