Hitpoints -> LifePoints = Constitution Skill?
Today, we have made significant modifications to the Hitpoints skill, the most important of these being that all ‘hitpoints’ are now multiplied by 10 and renamed ‘life points’, and the name of the actual skill being changed to Constitution. The numbers you see will be bigger, but they will still affect things in the same way.
It’s important to note that this will not change standard combat or the way you play the game.

The best way to describe these changes is with a few examples:
Example 1
Before today’s update:
A player has level 75 in the Hitpoints skill (this gives them 75 hitpoints).
The player has a max hit of 34.
The player is fighting a lesser demon, which has 79 hitpoints and a max hit of 8.
The player is carrying some lobsters, which heal 12 hitpoints each.
After today’s update:
A player has level 75 in the Constitution skill (which gives them 750 life points).
The player has a max hit of 340.
The player is fighting a lesser demon, which has 790 life points and a max hit of 80.
The player is carrying some lobsters, which heal 120 life points each.
Example 2
Before today’s update:
Two players are in PvP combat.
Player A has 21 hitpoints and a max hit of 7. He is carrying chickens, which heal 3 hitpoints each when eaten.
Player B has 92 hitpoints and a max hit of 45. She is carrying manta rays, which heal 22 hitpoints each.
After today’s update:
Two players are in PvP combat.
Player A has 21 Constitution (giving him 210 life points) and has a max hit of 70. He is carrying chickens, which heal 30 life points each.
Player B has 92 Constitution (giving her 920 life points) and has a max hit of 450! W00t! She is carrying manta rays, which heal 220 life points each.
Example 3
Before today’s update:
A player falls from an Agility shortcut and takes 4 damage. When the player takes damage, the amount of damage they take is subtracted from their current hitpoint total. Their current Hitpoint skill level also decreases by the same.
After today’s update:
A player falls from an Agility shortcut and takes 40 damage. When the player takes damage, the amount of damage they take is subtracted from their current life point total. Their Constitution level is unaffected.

As you can see from the above examples, your basic stat remains the same, but the amount of hits you can take (that’s ALL damage, not just from combat) have been multiplied by 10. Equally, the damage you deal has also been multiplied by 10, and all food will heal you 10 times as much.
Your current life points are displayed in the status globe at the top-right hand corner of the screen, next to the minimap. When you take damage, this number will go down, NOT your Constitution stat.
The Constitution skill on the stats interface is in the same place that the Hitpoints skill stat used to be (at the top of the second column of skills; however, your current Constitution level does NOT reflect how much damage you can take – you’ll have to look at the life point display next to the minimap to see that. The skill icon for Constitution is the same as was used for Hitpoints

To me it looks like a World of Shitcraft imitation. It serves no purpose in the game except now we can add larger numbers up to find out our DClaw maxes (as if it wasn't hard enough to speed-add). If anyone can give me 1 legit reason as to what this fixes in the game I'll buy them a hooker IRL.

Hitpoints -> LifePoints = Constitution Skill?
D claw gonna be scary numbers lol, 370-220-190-380? Dead...

Hitpoints -> LifePoints = Constitution Skill?
No, it's to make the hits more accurate, like before if it was, 26.8, it'd be rounded down to 26, but now it'd be more accurate and be displayed as 268.

Did anyone here lose sleep at night wondering if they still had .2 HP left?

/edit: thats a general question to anyone reading this.

Hitpoints -> LifePoints = Constitution Skill?
hating on a better game doesnt make u cool

Hitpoints -> LifePoints = Constitution Skill?
umm, i'm happy with it. now instead of hitting 0s i have a 9x more chance to hit a number if it was going to be a 0.

honestly so many people are crying about this update.. i agree with "dont fix whats not broken" but what i just said shows it was broken a little bit.

and it's not a big deal at all.. just get used to it.

So you'd rather hit a 10 and feel better about your pixels than to hit a 1?

Your brain actually tricks you into forgetting that 10 still = 1?

They have an article explaining why they made the change, if anyone bothered to read it.

Yea. We read it. Did you read the first post where I linked to the same thing? Guess not.

The main question I've had for YEARS is "if jagex says you must be 13 years old or older to play" why the hell do they keep putting hand-holding updates into the game to help new players. Its really not that hard unless you're mentally retarded, in which case you shouldnt be left alone on the internet anyways. I know 13 year olds who do drugs and shoot up the block. Honestly, I've LOL'd @ just about every update jagex has put into the game for "new players" or "beginners". I personally believe they should tag their update threads with [For Dumbasses] or [Retard Update #x]. That way I dont have to waste 10 minutes of my life reading their about their failed pixel experiments. It should all be optional. I want to be able to turn off narb updates with the "Hide Narb Update" switch.

no i would rather hit a 19, then hitting a 1, even when i should of been hitting 19

Hitpoints -> LifePoints = Constitution Skill?
dislike, no need to fix it, if it wasn't broken :/ imo there was nothing wrong with hitting rounded numbers

No no no homeboy, you don't fully understand it. You don't hit any better. They just take whatever you DO hit and multiply it by 10.

This update doesnt make you hit the equivalent of a 20 if you really do hit a 20. If you're hitting a 20 after the update, you're really only hitting a 2.

You are still only getting 8 experience for the 20 that you hit.

And even if you hit 1.5 and it moves out to a 15. You only get 4 experience, you wont get 6.

and why the hell would you say 'feel better about your pixels' when this is a internet game. i'm supposed to want to 'feel better about my pixels.'

So by hitting a 10 you get a warmer, fuzzier feeling inside as opposed to hitting a 1?

/edit: when they equal the same damn thing.

Hitpoints -> LifePoints = Constitution Skill?
This will take a little bit of getting used to, but overall I don't really care. It might make new players more interested in the game, you know how kids these days are with big numbers.

LOL exactly. A few posts up I talked about the age limit in RuneScape and how jagex seems to overlook it. Unless english boys are super-immature for their numerical ages?
