High School Yearbook Ideas?

So, I'll be leaving high school/secondary school soon and I'm on the Yearbook team. Joy! I know.
(It counts as hours of work towards a portfolio I need to put together for another subject otherwise I wouldn't be bothering).

I need help with a few things:

• "Awards" ideas (E.g. Funniest person, craziest person) anything clean.
• "Most & Least Likely to..." (E.g. Least likely to get a job, most likely to be famous) anything clean.
• Ideas for other pages that you've seen in other yearbooks etc. or anything that sounds good you can think of.
• Ideas for Student Profiles (outlined below).

The people in the year are 17 & 18 so keep it age appropriate please, as it also has to be proof read by staff.


So far we have:

• Head teacher/Principles comments.
• Departmental & staff photos.
• Student profiles.
  (These include, a photo, baby photo, "Catchphrase", "Favourite school moment", "Teacher Crush" and "Where I'll be in 10 years..." underneath.
  Suggestions are appreciated.
• Collages of photos of the students alternating with pages of profiles.
• "Most & Least likely to..." and "Awards" pages.
• Memorable teacher quotes.
• Sports teams pages.
• Whole year group photo.
• Sponsors/Advertisers (Main source of funding).

Any input whatsoever would be appreciated. Thanks ^_^

 

If I were you I'd try to find some online copies of other schools' yearbooks to compare and get ideas from.

 

Most & least likely to was a big hit in my end of school career assembly. Stuff like Most likely to be in prison, work in Mcdonalds, be a millionaire, be an athlete...shit like that. Another good one was 'The best...', do a poll in the year asking people who the best person was for the specified question, I personally got 'The best ginger kid' award which I was pretty proud of Things such as The best looking girl and boy, the best couple, the funniest person...genuine questions which will make everyone smile about. Yeah, I've had a look but they all seem to be the same. I'm looking for that one unique idea that would make this years book "better than last years", if you know what I mean ^_^.

Maybe have a page to dedicate a really cool teacher or someone who has helped and supported a lot of students. We had something like that in our year book every year.

 

Do you have one to hand you could show me?

 

You could always do what our lead Yearbook designer did last year and photoshop herself into the yearbook like 10 times for the lulz.

 

Somehow I don't think I'll get away with it, sounds funny though..

 

fun idea is to put like hidden messages in it. Like for example, if you have a candids page, like put all the "dark" pictures in a line so that they form a penis (if you're immature), or "'12", if you're not immature

 

Not a bad idea, I'll see about this one.
Although, I don't think the penis will make it through the proof read xD

For our last year's yearbook it was designed in 3D it was pretty cool and A LOT of people seemed to like it, so thats just an idea

Have all the seniors take pictures with their car. That's what our school did.

 

Most of the seniors in my school couldn't even afford a car lol.
