HIDE the RaS forums.

I am against this.

If it is hidden from the public, then staff will never do it.

Also, new comers will see there is no RaSpammer forum and they will think spamming is all right.

Not only is spam not the most important issue, but I'm pretty sure the staff will do it regularly, as for the comment if newcomers won't see RaS then they'll think it's alright to spam? Well:
1) Most newcomers have common sense and a 70+ IQ
2) They know that you shouldn't spam boards
3) It states not to spam in the rules, which is/should be a priority to read.

Lame.

We deserve to know if our reports are actually being attended to.

Indeed.

I just noticed you used my reports as a example.

Ty for caring about me so much

So you can bitch when they don't get done?

Why are you trying to flame bait? Please PM me if you're still angry about my suggestion and at least stay on topic in this thread.

I was questioning your reasons. And it doesn't even matter now.

I've asked Sin about this a while ago. Here was the convo:

It's kind of interesting to see people complaining about the Report a Spammer section. I was just thinking that it might be best to keep that section viewable to only the staff.

Many people have been complaining about it with little effect resulted. I propose this idea to keep people satisfied (in a way) so they'd stop whining.

There's no real point in keeping that particular forum open to the public except for personal references but that's about it. If that section is closed from the public, they wouldn't know how much spam reports are left, thus they can't really whine about it. Also, many people can leech off of other people's reports and find stuff that has already been reported and report it again to gain undeserved credit.

Please consider this suggestion and thanks for your time,

Pokemoners2

Most users probably wouldn't use the 'report post' feature if the RaSpam forum were hidden; it does seem kind of pointless when you click the red button, send the report, and nothing happens. In fact, it used to be that the section's mods were simply emailed the reports, but if I can remember correctly, people seldom used it.

Anyway, users would still assume nothing was being done, since infractions cannot be seen by normal users. At least now, they get to see when their report has been answered, and get feedback on posts they should not be reporting.

He is mod now so he can do the reports. :D

Touché, remove the post count increase

Ban Mu-B and all the invalid spam reports should stop. Meaning 500+ of them/day.

stuff

"lol that was really funny, i liked it" shouldn't be reported just because it's barely spam.

stuff

It is spam nonetheless, and it has to be dealt with. I don't care what you define as spam, because it means nothing to the people who have to look through the spam reports.

Lol. that won't happen. He just donated 100+ dollars :p. I also support but FG4 is right by newcomers might think that spamming is right.

Well im a newcomer, but i have participated in several other forums (clan forums). It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that spamming is unacceptable. Most newcomers spam, because they want to be recognized as the "Cool Dude". I think a great solution would be that users cannot post posts less than 10, 15, 20 or whatever amount of words, hense the end to useless posts (Just my Opinion)

Well there is a 5 word limit but I'm pretty sure you can make a 6 word post that isn't spam.
