Hey Guys, Think about it, where does GP come from?

Now, i've just been puzzling, but surely, that the obvious sources of gp is from npc drops, people questing, people selling things to multiple shops and various spawns all over runescape. This raises the question that "But there are billions and milions of gp in runescape? there isn't enough funding from npc drops, people questing and various spawns to make that massive amount?" in response to this question, doesn't this suggest that the only sure way, to produce these massive amounts of money, is from people high alching? Am i right? What do you think? And again, the G.E is only funded by peoples money sourced from these places, so merchants get there money sourced from people doing these methods.

Edit: people buying and selling things back to shops over runescape is another possible suggestion/ Thieving and looting.

Any collecting skill will add gp to the game.

Fishing, Mining, Woodcutting, Hunter, Runecrafting, Theiving

I think main sources are: Alching, Monster drops and items sold to general store.

Also old bh artefact drops played a big role.

 

I would say the coinshare system plays a big part, any CS Teams at corp etc are brining in allot of GP from a sigil in one go.

But alching is another big one too

 

Climbing boots inflated the market 50-100b after the update, alch a pair and you'll know what I mean.
Also before free trade was back, pvp statues bought a huge amount of gp into the game.
When wgs was released there was a glitch which nobody knew about aside for a minority, the certain team which botted this made 1b a day gp per account botted on each day, this was cash not items.
Aside for this sort off thing it's alching/general shop related.

Alched items are the biggest factor.

We also had artifact drops from PvP for quite a few years, some worth millions that would also add a ton of money into the game.

Oh, this is a nice question, I have never thought of this before. My opinion is that all of this cash comes form different NPCs, thieving, alching, general store, old BH artifacts and coinshare, but do you really think this would cover all the maxed cash piles in game?

 

Definitely. With thousands of players doing all of those things constantly, it would totally cover all of the GP in the game.

 

These only add wealth, not coins. More "wealth" and less coins means the value of GP will rise. However, since any item can be liquidated instantly to a shop or by alchemy, these do raise the "coin" count a little bit (especially items like Maple Longs (u) or commonly alched items).
