Herblore. Is it worth it?

As the tittle says, today (4 years later since i started Druidic Ritual LOL) i finished the quest and started Herblore, im like level 12 now, but i want to train it.

I got 20m cash but is it worth it training it and spending all my cash?

No, only train it past 52 if you have enough money to go all the way to extremes/overload. Your money is better spent elsewhere.

 

agreed. its only worth it if you can afford ext/ovl.

 

In my opinion, it's better to start on it now (ration out a little money to spend on herblore). If you contribute to the skill every now and then, you will eventually get to around 75. After that, once you get enough to finish to 99, spend it all to get 99.

Herb is by far one of the most useful skills in the game, but mostly at high levels. Its handy being able to make all kinds of potions, but you can always just buy them off the GE and it is usually much cheaper anyways.. the potions you want, however, are the untradeable extreme potions & the overload potion.

Since you only have 20M, don't waste all that money on herblore right now. Spend a few mil and get it up high enough so that you can make prayer potions at least, but I would save up until you can afford extremes/overloads down the road

 

If you can't afford 90 then don't bother starting.

 

A cheap alternative to training herblore (that actually makes a decent amount of money) is cleaning grimy herbs. Still good xp/hr as well!

 

All I can say is overloads are amazing and are worth every single gp you have so... I suggest spend as much as you are willing to on it!

 

Hm, i think i'm going to spend 5m on this for now, go make some cash and spend sometimes in herb.

just clean herbs until about 60-70 herb, then start putting money into it imo.

I agree in everything, but spending it all on 99. 89 is worth it (for ext att/str), and so is 96 (for obv ovls). However, if you don't plan to get either of those levels, don't spend it all on it.

 

As said, cleaning herbs is a good way to train at low levels. Also, a scroll of cleansing would help LOTS if you are going to buy unfinished potions and complete them.
