Help with my layout, making clean but unique text

Hey guys, I have this thread layout (http://i.imgur.com/1Pu5ld5.png)

I feel that it looks pretty good, especially for a newb like me. The biggest issue is when I do the prices, I don't like the text, I actually don't like a lot of the text, I feel it looks sort of cluttered and not good, what would you guys do to make this better while keeping it unique?

Any extra general help would be good to!

 

i like it, the text isn't bad either. maybe take off some blending on it? but its nice overall, you learn as you go and make more. i download tons of fonts because it gets annoying to use the same ones. maybe make it smaller?

 

Smaller would be an option, I also think using a less curvy and bubbly sort of font and something more squareish would be better

 

Reduce the layer styles and size for the main text. Less is generally more and the text is quite large. This text font (the default one for sythe) is very legible and is dwarfed by yours nomsayin?

EDIT: Yeah you could use a main font with less serifs and it being more formal leaving the funky fonts to titles etc.

 

Are the layer styles really a problem here? I understand what you're saying, but I feel like it stands out in a way. What would you recommend? Just a gradient overlay?

 

Less is really more when it comes to using layer styles on your regular text. Try just the gradient overlay if you want - or try just one of the styles you have currently (reducing them however).

 

That makes sense I guess, thanks for the help, but what about the rest? The layout etc.

 

I like the color scheme but the text deff has to be changed. I'd even reccomend having more of a professional color for text.

 

To make it look cleaner I'd definitely use a sans serif typeface. In this particular design you can also make some of the text a little bit smaller and do some repositioning. What I would also do is reduce the inner and outer glow and lose the stroke but that's personal preference.

 

Anyone else have any ideas?
