Help with Mozilla

Alright i just recently installed Mozilla Firefox and i would like it to be my default internet browser for everything. But when i go to check my hotmail from Windows Live Messenger it some how opens up Windows Internet Explorer? Even after i uninstalled it? Can anyone tell me what im doing wrong?

You cant change the messenger default browser without third party software.

Ya windows messenger just likes IE more. Both made by Microsoft.
