[HELP] WinRar usage - How to use/What is it for?

Okay. So, I've noticed that since I use Photoshop, and I get brushes, WinRar can help me. (I've been told.)

Thing is, I don't know how to use WinRar. I don't know exactly what is does, or anything. I would look up tutorials, but I figure it'd be best to come here, first.

Can someone fill me in ?

 

is a shareware file archiver and data compression utility developed by Eugene Roshal, and first released around 1995.It is one of the few applications that is able to create RAR archives natively, because the encoding method is held to be proprietary.


Basically Unzips .RAR and .ZIP files that have multiple files inside of them

I won't even pretend like I understood that.. ):

 

Ok let's say you download a .RAR file on the web, say it's like an album. It will come as a .RAR file because it contains more than 1 file (since it's an album it probably has 6 or 7 files) You extract it onto any folder and you now have all the files

So it's basically like a bag. The bag carries your files, and makes them smaller, so it's easier to carry?

So when you come across a .RAR file, you extract onto any folder and you will get more than 1 file
