help when i start up my comp get on my name thing it wont load desktop with i ocns and i ahve to fiddle with it for like 20 mins each time any wya i cna fix it help plz thanks

so if i understand you (which is hard please be more specific) your loading your background but no icons or anything else? and what do you 'fiddle' with to make it work?

also do you have a printer attached to your computer?

yes i have a printer attached to my computer and i have to fiddle with my computer by tuning it on rebboting it and all htis other junk for like 20mins just for it to work get my icons up and start menu etc..

But I would get antivirus or fdisk and reformat my computer if that happened to me.

what is sounds like to me is that explorer.exe isnt loading on startup, ive had a similar problem, all u have to do is when u load ur computer hit ctrl+alt+delete(if your using xp pro hit task manager then do the following) go to file-new process and type explorer.exe and that should pop up all you Icons and startbar and if that dont work it could be that u have to many things loading at startup and its causing it to load really slow, if its that go to start-run and type msconfig and go to startup and uncheck everything(if u uncheck ur g-card or sound card it's not stopping it from loading its just stopping the icon from appearing in the startbar)
