[Hearthstone] 1st or 2nd?

Vote! Do you prefer to go first or second? Going second means you get the coin, and get an extra card to choose from.

 

First, statistically has a higher win rate, too. (50.6-7%)

 

prefer second, as i get the coin, which i like to save at times, and it lets me counter the first hand.

 

If I go first, I generally find myself on the early offensive. Always more fun that way.

 

Do you use a lot of 1 mana cards?

 

2nd, the mana card helps.

 

A fair few for each deck. Always use the 1/2 taunt one, footman or something? The divine shield one and the battlecry 1 damage one.

 

I prefer 2nd, but I don't really mind going first.

I think having the decision to use the mana coin can mess up your play sometimes, or may not even be used at all.

 

Exactly this.
If you play the game right, you don't need the extra mana card, and first will ALWAYS have the advantage no matter what card you choose.

 

Depends I believe for mage miracle rogue and druid it's good to go second.

Because for druid you can coin out a wild growth on second turn

Mage you can get a fireball off antonidas

Miracle rogue use it to draw an extra card with all those preparation and all

Also probably in handlock deck to get mountain giant earlier or a stronger twilight drake

 

It's never better to go second statistically, just letting everyone know. Yes, you can combo the coin with some cards (it does count as a spell, and it works with the rogue's combo mechanic), but even still, if you go second, your opponent will be setting the pace every turn except for one turn when you play the coin.

Forcing your opponent to play reactive the entire game puts you at a reasonable advantage. Tempo means everything in Hearthstone.

 

Coining out wild growth is pretty useless when you think about it. Coin it, get 3 mana after. Or you can hold onto the coin, wild growth, start the turn after that with 4 mana with a coin which allows you to coin out a 5 mana card.

You've the right idea how going 2nd and getting the coin can be better. You also get an extra card (not the coin), which is great for handlocks and miracle rogues. 1 card closer to the auctioneer is big, and having more cards and a bigger range to choose from to efficiently use the auctioneer is also good.

 

First turn is almost exclusively better, except for a few specific deck types.

To the guy who coins wild growth-- As a Rank 1 (Innkeeper not Legend) Druid player, I would only suggest coining it out if you expect you will need to play wrath on turn two or if you have a harvest golem in your hand.
