Good PC RPG?

Got 2 weeks of vacation. Recommend me something similar to KOTOR

 

Minecraft is a classic way to kill time, not the exact same type of game though.

 

half life, of course. should tryout dragon quest as well but it's more of an mmo and is online.

Maybe something like Tera, or Guild Wars 2 which recently just went F2P.

 

If you're only looking to kill 2 weeks, relive the classics!

Find an emulator and play old-school nintendo or even ps2 games on your pc

No point in joining an MMORPG community if you'll only be around for 2 weeks... But ESO is a good one, or obviously, Runescape...

but ps2 has a lot of single-player RPGs.... Champions of Norrath was a pretty good one back in the day.... But if you want a truly epic experience, get a PS1 emulator and download the 4 discs for Legend of Dragoon.... It's turn based like final fantasy, but I think Legend of Dragoon beats all of FF's games put together... except maybe 7 and dirge of cerberus lol

I like the FF stuff, but I just prefer middle ages over technology stuff, FF just had too much technology in it... Robots, guns, etc etc. LoD is all swords, bows, spears, magic.

And LoD can be beaten easily in 2 weeks if you hardcore it. lol Possibly faster... I honestly haven't played it in YEARS... When I was young it took me like a year to beat it haha.

 

Definitely try out Tera, their combat system is amazing for a F2P game. I've played it on and off for about 2 years now.

witcher 3 hands down is the goty fallout 4 isn't going to live up to the hype but will most likely get goty because of the fanbois

 

And what makes you say that? I can completely understand that most Bethesda's games have hype surrounding them before release, but it's there for a reason. They make excellent games. Sure they're buggy at first and require a few patches here and there before they're running completely smooth, but still.

I think we know why Fallout 4 will get GOTY. I will say though, Witcher 3 was amazing, but it's a hit and miss with some. I liked the setting, the world, but the quests just felt grindy as hell. And that's the problem with games like that. They get hyped up for the graphics and have people going around saying "OMG HAVE YOU SEEN THE GRAPHICS?!!". Yet that's the only thing really going for it.

Yet with a game like Fallout, the storyline, the quests, the world setting, everything about it Bethesda nails. And that's why it will get GOTY. Just my 2c.

 

Even though the last 2 posts got a bit off track, I'd like to address them...

The Witcher was an AMAZING game. I highly, highly enjoyed all 3 games. But... I enjoyed Fallout more.

And that's very strange because I'm not usually into shooter games... I highly prefer the sword slashing, magic casting, old ages-style games... So, you'd think that witcher would be right up my street - And it IS, but I honestly enjoyed Fallout 3 more than I did the Witcher.... However, Witcher 3 did beat Fallout 3 AND Fallout New Vegas.... BUT I personally believe Fallout 4 will easily beat Witcher 3.

So if OP somehow, out of all the posts, did come down to choosing 1 of the 2, my personal suggestion would be fallout.

the witcher was the only game were the side quests affect the world of the game, fallout and other like it follow the same cookie cutter aspect were no matter what decision you do on the side it will never affect the core game, and thats why they are subpar rpgs

not hostile, just don't like casuals who try to push their views without knowing a good game.

I've really been getting into Aion lately -- kinda reminds me of Phantasy Star meets World of Warcraft. It's free on Steam.

 

I agree with the emulators idea. Unless your just really trying to find a game to play on the side and want to use your 2 weeks to find one.
