Have You thought about your name?

Have you ever taken the time to really think about your name, its influence on you, and its meaning? Are names your destiny, or is that just a myth? Different people can be associated to different names I found out. At the highschool that I teach in, I tend to realize, that different children with different names, do differently in school, but in categories. For an example, Out of the 11 Brandon's that are in my classes, 10 out of 11 of them dont get their work done, talk out loud in class, and are fairly rude. On the other hand, out of 6 Jareds, every single one is a quiet shy spoken child, who always hands in assignments and projects on time, with at least an 80% average. Have you thought about your name, and how it shapes you? Many people beleive that what ever you are named at birth, will shape you character and life, sometimes even your Destiny, but what i really would like to know is, what do you think?

Actually, brandon comes from the name brendan

The name brendan is named after Saint Brendan of Clonfert.

People name thier children after this as tradition/religious beliefs/after a famous person

So not all people with the name brendan/brandon suck.

 

well my name is edward and im an 1 student 3.95 gpa i guess it does matter. but the most important thing i think is the exprience with that name, like who you see with your name and how they are doing/ act will influence you

I'm Asian, and my parents were originally from Asia, so my english name is very alike towards my Asian name. >_> I guess that's how my name was created. (It's Jeff/Jeffrey)

 

I don't think its true at all. I mean I have seen little similarities in other people with my name but then I see it in other as well. But I think it just the person being who they are and not because of there name.

i dunno what it means, i was just named that.. i had no choice but yah its ok i like it.. its not somethin that stands out like Astrid or jesus or lucifer of somethin like that.. its just a name, i bet plenty people on Sythe have the same name as me.. and yes i've thout about it.. but its just a name..

Yea your name doesn't influence who you are , unless you have a really terrible name such as lucifer like sad before, and even then it would be because someone made fun of you for it, which means it would be the way people influenced your life.

 

Technically, there isn't a characteristic that comes with a name whatsoever.

Hmmm, I see where you are coming at. Amazingly I bought this keyring for my Dad's car keys and it said the exact description of him.. I guess it does make a difference.. well not a difference but its weird.. I can't explain. Peoples names have meanings in languages and sometimes they are exactly like the person.

 

My names Zack Dorsen. Dorsen is a veryy rare last name, as it was changed from another name when my grandparents came through Ellis Island. I googled my name and there's only one other person with it and he lives like 30 miles away and is my age.

 

I knowk that all you guys strike your own Points, btw for any people that would like to know, my name is John, and when ever i see another person with the name John, even some students that are in the highschool they are VERY smiliar to me. A few people have actually taken the time to study and do a research, and frankly, 75% of people that have the same name will usually behave, or act in the same manner, which is a really weird thing? Does anyone know what good names are at the moment? The name Luke for example, most Lukes learn things very quickly, from Sports to Mathematics. Im not saying a specific name is the BEST one but their are a few whos character's rule out the others.

 

My mom is the one who named me; David. She said that she thought of King David from the bible.
I don't think that a name shapes destiny, because there is a guy named David LaChapelle, and he is a photographer, while I, myself, want to be a house constructor.

And to the other too, it is weird lol most names do come from the Hebrew or Islamic language though.
