Has pure pking changed?

10x more rushers now annoying as hell

 

I think pure pking is fine now but i decided to get 70 attack because the ss rapes d scim hard...

 

Define pure PK'ing? A pure is no different than a main specced for PK'ing. In other words pure PK'ing as a concept is redundant because it implies a character specced for player-killing that is player killing. Even better, by nowadays standards, you've got "pures" with over 70 defence, not concidered pure in the remotest sense by standards from 4+ years ago.

And yes, pk'ing (every form) has changed...

I remember when PK'ing was filling up your inventory in Edgeville with Sharks, 1 of each potion, the Godspell prayer runes (even be4 ancients) and snare runes.

Starting from edgeville you went north at skellies where some people were standing, but the real fun started when you started heading for black knight castle and green dragons. Once there, you could head on to rune rocks, moss giants and the lesser demons. Along the way, you'dd swap worlds running away from clans or even trying to chase people down.

I remember when adding people on your friendlist, just so you could see what world they swapped to so you could follow, was actually an often used technique to get kills.

The days when PK'ing was more than what it is nowadays, hundreds of people within earshot of eachother just pilejacking and speccing eachother untill someone gets those lucky crits and everyone goes: "omfg awesum you rox".

I remember when the concept of PK'ing actually meant adventuring in the wilderness, constantly swapping worlds and travelling between the hotspots. Logging out as fast as you could when you suddenly saw 100 white dots pop up on the edge of your radar.

Back when getting a kill in PK'ing was celebrated by the silence around you rather than a hundred people going: "OMFG NICE KILL ZOMROXOORSS WHAT DID YOU GET?".

It's a sad story, really, but the only memory of Runescape I'll ever cherish was roaming the -actual- wilderness for hours on end every day after school getting kill after kill, and each one was special in it's own way. A kill meant a 5 minute fight of snaring, kiting, eating food while at the same time making sure you could get away in case his friend or a clan came to aid your target.

Most of you probably didn't even play during these days, when a full rune was concidered amazing loot and prices of phats were around 20M. (for comparison) But these days truly were the golden days of Runescape...

2003-2005 in my life (outside of high school obviously) will forever mean roaming the wilderness past school times -If I wasn't chilling with friends- and the intire night on weekends.

Pk'ing right now is not even a shadow of what it once was, trust me...

 

Everyone is rich now, so they get prayer and all the good k0 weps. Also there are many maxed pures from the bots.

 

The word "pure," is like the word "virgin," meaning something hasn't been touched or it's in it's original state.

So a "pure" would be still having 1 def and not ruining it.

Obviously, people with 30 def calls them selves pure and 40 etc.

But another word goes with it.

Such as turm pure, rune pure, barrows pure, etc.

Pure as it self usually means 1 def and low combat with high combat stats.

But I agree with what else you wrote.

 

pking itself hasn't changed just the items,
but you do get d claw rushed at 1 def all the time

 

Decided to go pking a little on my lvl 74, and at least 5 nubs tele'd after their specs failed.
