has anyone listened to Mac Miler?

Mac Miller is dope.

You can't compare him with Em cuz Em is a completely different style of rap. Mac isn't necessarily a lyrical genius, but when you look at his music as a whole, it's just got a really nice, chill feeling to it.

I like Mac Miller but he's going mainstream too quickly. I liked KIDS better than Best Day Ever, only decent song on there was Keep Floating.

KIDS had that smooth beats and lyrics to them but in BDE, all he talks about is sex, money, and drugs. The same as today's mainstream bullshit.

Honestly, the old Mac Miller was better.

 

Honestly, Wiz said it best when it comes to this subject: "They say all I rap about's, bitches and champagne/you would too if every day you saw the same thing"

Rap is largely an expression of what you're experiencing and how it's affecting you. In Mac's case, he's becoming more famous, getting more girls, more money, all that; every single day.

What separates people like Mac Miller and Wiz Khalifa from more introspective artists like Nas is that Nas was able to absorb the fame and money and stick to his roots. Obviously, he's not making stuff that sounds like Illmatic still, but it's not Lil Wayne either.

 

I agree, Mac's the shit but eminem is THE SHIT... just watch 8 mile lol.

 

I like Best Day Ever better than K.I.D.S. personally.
