has any1 ever took the time to actually look throughly through the dispute archive section?

its come to my attention that alot of people on sythe who r considered "trusted" have actually 1 way or another been banned for scamming or hacking, phishing, ect... im not saying all just a fair amount including mods/admins/mm's ect.... I will not include names but its open information, if u wish to see. I just have a question who decides when a mod is e-power hungry and ban happy? it seems some mods can pretty much say and do w.e they want. The ban happy mods bann first ask questions later... some are warranted but some are not as ive researched and noticed. hasnt it always been innocent until proven guilty? atleast here in usa it has. ALOT of mods/admins EGO's show. But who puts them in there place? or does it just run amuck... it also seems apparent others get the easy way out... apology long letters and ect... slap on the wrist and there done... with others denied good bye. Is this site a community with democracy or tyrants? plz dont take this as flamming or anything of that nature im just interested on how everything works here and im new to the site. if im outta lines lemme know and ill back off. or iff a mod could explain the history of sythe to meh which im very interested in... since ive joined sythe has entered my life at the same lvl as rs did. i just wanna know why these things happen and who controls them and why certian people are allowed to continue with there services completely scott free... i know they may have a shit ton of vouches but who cares... if they get caught, they get caught. no1 should be treated differently. and ive actually seen mods say in there threads that theyl bend the rules for certian people... that seems to be BS! every1 is suppossed to be treated along the same ropes... doesnt seem to be.... on another note... i sign in from different i.ps all the time.. work, home, girls house ect... im not computer savy but doesnt it seem a lil harsh to bann hammer some1 cuz of i.p's especially when they can be changed almost daily? i know i can change mine anytime i want to... dont know if theres different kinds of i.p.s like i said im not comp savy in anyway... so how does this all work and any1 have opinion on any of this... flame away if u must... i just didnt know the real rules and the silent 1s.....

Yes, I’ve looked through most disputes on this forum. Sadly, we can’t put every moderator or “trusted” user to a lie detector test before they are ranked. Statistically speaking moderators deserve to be more trusted than normal users given the fact that most have invested tons of their own time on the site to improve Sythe. This time could have been used at a job instead, so the likely hood of a staff member or trusted user scamming a pin or something is rather low. Given the fact that I used to help with ban users, I’ve noticed a ton of information is withhold for the actually user until the user goes to dispute the ban. This is to see how honest the user is being with the staff over the issue.

The community as well as the admins give feedback on every staff member. The “ban happy mods” are usually the one who actually places the ban on most of the scammers. You said “hasnt it always been innocent until proven guilty” Wrong. On sythe I believe it been guilty to you can prove yourself innocent. This is used to prevent future scamming. Note you won’t banned over an accusation or text logs. Actually proof has been given.

Curious, what staff member has gotten off scot-free for a crime they have committed? Because I was staff before I was highly pardon, and I was banned for three years. Staff never gave me just a slap of the wrist and I’m pretty sure most staff like me J. My point being is I probably did get pardon because I was staff but saying everyone equal is for from true. While I was an official middleman and staff I never scammed. How do you compare that to a normal user? I had the opportunity to scam huge, but I choose not too. Staff members are usually judge at a different aspect given the things they encounter. Yet if it’s a serious crime they will be banned. Hope that helps some mate.

Well, I considered myself somewhat trusted with 30+ vouches and 600$ traded as well as 4 Years on sythe and 2350+ post count.


Was recently banned for 3 months for self vouching. My cousin came over to my house and logged on his sythe account ( once... ) , and after he did that I vouched him. I then received a 3 month ban for self vouching under the IP rule.

So no, I don't think every ban in warranted, but hey there are a LOT of scammers on this site and you have to watch out.

Keep in mind a lot of people here are ages 10-14

Alot of proof/info used to convict the user of a banning is withheld from the public eye.

People get pardons based on their contributions to the site and character reform. Staff don't pardon anyone who isn't deserving.

They also use the "collective approach" now when dealing with pardons, obviously it is a fairer way than for 1 person to decide your ultimatum.

As for the I.P matches, there are ways to prove it wasn't you (if you are legitimately innocent), but ultimately you just need to be more weary of the rules and where you log in with your Sythe account.

Mods only ban if there is sufficient proof.
If there is not they ask for more or don't ban the accused scammers.

I agree with you, some people are given more leaway , a few mods and such but i believe its because if every OMM/MOD ends up banned it reflects badly on the community...also alot of mods have stayed perm banned. In some cases a 'slap on the wrist is used' in others they are fully not tollerable

Not to mention the fact if a report between a normal user and a moderator breaking a rule which one do you think gets read first? Plznate - self vouching. The rule was pretty much changed due to this case in my opinion
Hahanerd - phishing.. although I think it was resolved.. not sure.
Finn - scamming a while ago
Brendan (w) - was banned at some point.. not sure why

Staff members of sythe.org only take serious action (Ban, IP ban) on scammers, phishers, and advertisers only if evidence was provided to them.

Evidence can be such as: screenshots, videos, or for advertisers: show them the thread URL.

1. Mods and other users getting second chance:
Preferential treatment does happen, but it's not surprising, nor necessarily a bad thing. Every user with a history of scamming, phishing, and so on, from an external perspective, presents a greater amount of risk to the site's members than a user without said history. However, when the offense is old, or small, or admitted with apparent regret (hence, when the additional risk presented by said member is perceived to be minimal), and the users' contributions to the site are significant, then the benefits of keeping the member can outweigh the risk.

The people getting unbanned aren't the ones that scammed 200m. They're the ones who scammed a $5 pin 5-6 years ago, or the ones who admit an offense that otherwise wouldn't have been discovered.

2. Quality of proof:
High-profile bans are usually discussed in the staff lounge, where all the proof is gathered and debated, and the proper course of action is decided by majority vote.

Unfortunately, there are too many scam reports and complaints to deal with every report in the same manner, so most decisions are left to whichever global wants to answer. Mistakes do happen, but not often - the number of disputes simply attests to the unsurprising fact that most banned users happen to be liars as well.

A check system is still in place though. If another global disagrees with a decision, it can be taken to vote as well, or they can ask an Admin for a final opinion.

People like you are the reasons there are scammers here.
You take the time to go through the archive and you notice people who are "trusted" who've been banned before. But what do you do about it? Nothing. You complain about the "general" part of it, but you don't report them as banevaders/hackers/scammers/phishers/etc.

Stop complaining about this if you aren't helping the situation.
