I recently was just lurking around the forum and came across Hahanerd's thread asking for an "ex mod" rank. And seen that he will not be getting one. I find that extremely ridiculous since, He has helped sythe as much if not more than other mods here on sythe. He should be given a respectful "ex mod" badge regardless of why he was demoed. As it is absolutely none of my business. I just thought I would leave you guys some feedback as to where I stand with this decision you guys have made. That is sad that you guys wont just give a simple badge to a fellow moderator on the forum he spent and voluntarily moderating and in this case wasting his time here. Since he has absolutely nothing to show for it. Please note that I don't even know the guy at all. Nor have ever even done a single transaction with this man, and this is the way I feel. I am just a simple member here and noticed what he has done, And the least he could get is a badge claiming what he has done here. Lastly, I find it just sad that you cant do just this, To show you appreciation for his time donating his time/life here. Anyways, Have a good night and I hope you guys make the right decision on making this right.

I agree, but as Finn stated "Mods who get demoted don't get the rank".

 

Yeah but that is total bs. As someone volunteers here and gets nothing in return not even a badge that takes 5 minutes tops to give to someone is just sad. He spent a lot of time helping sythe. Thats is my whole point. He deserves it regardless of him being demoted or retiring. Either way he was still a mod which does in fact whether he gets a badge or not means he is an EX MOD. Therefore deserves a badge that stats just that.

 

When someone gets demoted, its usually because they did something wrong, either with their power or went inactive so should not reek the benefits for have been a mod. In the end he doesn't need the rank with all the vouches he's accumulated but I am neutral on this as I don't know all the details.

 

I'm sure we all wouldn't mind seeing hahanerd with an ex-mod rank. With that said though, rules are rules, and what the admins of the site say goes.

 

It's hard to comment on this issue, because we normal members DO NOT know the full story behind the reasons eventuating to his demotion.
That being said, his contributions to the site as a mod were terrific, however Finn ruled on this saying rules are rules.

 

Please know that this is feedback not me really asking for this. I am just saying that I feel like its sad when someone volunteers for a site than doesn't get the proper title. Although this is just feedback, It would be nice to fulfill this. Honestly if him getting demoted was something so severe he doesn't even get a proper title/badge than honestly why wouldn't he be banned? Thats my exact point. He should have gotten a proper title and thats why this feedback is well necessary. As he is not banned and obviously the offence wasn't all that severe.

 

I don't think you can have a opinion on this matter without knowing why he was demoted.

Although I think HHN was an amazing member, he is not exempt from the rules that admins lay down.

 

Obviously I do not know why he was demoted and I'm sure neither does any other non-staff know. That being said we have no idea what he could of done, if it was serious then I can see why the staff decide not to recognize him with the rank. However if it was something petty I believe he should have the rank nonetheless. But we do not get a say in how things are, the rules are there and he did something to get demoted and is paying the price.

 

It doesn't matter. We still have a say in it. Not a say to get his badge but at least an opinion which is what infact I have.

I don't think you even know what the rules are seeing that your signature must be breaking the rules as its nearly a page long.

 

We don't reward people for misconduct.
