Half of those reports say something along the lines of

"Omgsz arcus skemmed me 2b blue partyhat ogmogmgmg."

If you had looked at any of the other posts on this thread, you'd know that a VALID scam report is needed in order to claim a hacker has scammed you. Arcus is *in my opinion* one of the most legitimate users on Sythe, if he needs to pay back more, he will.

    Hacked Scams

When my msn was hacked, I had 5 fake reports submitted against me for scams ranging from 700m-4b. I regained control of my msn in 30 minutes, and the odds of 5 newcomers all adding me in that time and wanting to sell me 700m-4b were astronomically low. Mods looked into the reporters and found that all 5 accounts were just the same 2 people trying to get me to pay up.

In any hacking, there are people lining up to present fake proof to get a settlement for a scam that never happened (see n4n0's fake hacking). If there is explicit proof of the trade occurring, then by all means pay out. You can't just be forced to reimburse anyone who claims to have been scammed without the appropriate evidence

Should we make a new rule now saying to always ask for a pm before trading, before any more of this shit like this happens?

Asking for a PM isn't a rule and it shouldn't be, it's more common sense than anything.

People trust each other with their personal information nowadays.. honestly common sense? yeah right..

People have to be told to do things.. NO ONE that I have traded with in the last week asked for a PM or anything of that sort.. they posted their msn and anyone could have done the trade.. it's this type of thing that gets people into trouble;)

Unfortunately, members will never be forced to send PM's prior to a trade. It's something that no-one would really follow unless you were punished for it, and it's a bit harsh to punish someone for an offence like that. Not to mention, it would take a load of effort providing infractions and that sort of thing.

All we can do is try and encourage getting a PM as much as possible.

    This isn't really feedback..

Staff, as always, will remain vigilant when dealing with hacked users' scam reports, it will be handled carefully, the decision will be the right one.

    Thanks for your concern.
