Gyms are too easy to take over

I feel like it's far too easy to take a gym over, even the level 8s and what not. Have any of you experienced this? On my campus, no team holds it more than a few hours because of the level of activity. Most people are starting to flat out not bother anymore

 

In my town there are 7+ reds, so whenever i clear out the gym they can reput lots of pokemon there and its a proper battle.


I'm the highest level in town so I win consistently however

 

In my town Blue has the marority of members, I am one of the (very) few Yellow members. The fact that there is only 1 gym in my town and the fact that I started 3-4 days after launch means taking over the gym is somewhat of a challenge.

 

I'm only level 4 nearly level 5 , so i hope you're right about the gyms being easy to defeat ha

 

I was in a very large city at the dentist and there was a gym on like every block lol. Not that often, but I saw soooooo many gyms. Red owned pretty much every one. I was too low to beat any of them.

 

They need to fix the gym battle mechanics so that they're more equal/harder for someone to take them over. Being able to take in 6 Pokemon at once to battle 1 Pokemon is just completely unfair. Even if you're like level 8 you can take down a gym dominated by higher levels if you have enough revives and potions (which everyone does because Pokestops rain them). It's annoying af to have my level 5 or 6 gym taken over by a low level.

That's why people are in teams. If people work as a group they can easily get 6 pokemon in a gym

 

My girlfriend and I just took down a level 8 gym ourselves. It's ridiculously easy. If you can beat them once, you are guaranteed to take the gym all the way down to nothing

I know the feeling, I would take over a gym with my buddies, come home like 30 minutes later and all of our pokemon are already back in our inventories defeated, not sure what they would change though.

 

Something I found out today and sharing in case other people didn't know

So I frequently take over all the gyms in my area quickly and was collecting to get 10 pokecoins and 500 stardust, it just came to my attention that its best to take over multiple gyms quickly, so maybe the closest 5 to you and then collect. You'll get 50 pokecoins and 2500 stardust instead of the 10 pokecoins and 500 stardust.

You cannot collect more than once every 21 hours, so make sure you have multiple gyms already owned with a pokemon inside it before collecting

 

Just started gymming. They are way too easy to take over. I took over a gym with way better Pokemon than I had and people take over my gyms with way worse Pokemon than I have

 

I think gyms do get taken over incredibly easily (here most gyms change every 2-3 hours) but I do think that is part of the fun. Because it's changing all of the damn time, you always want to go around and try to reclaim your area. If it took days to overcome a strong gym, the people from that team would avoid that area until someone took it over a few days later.

 

ive got 3 gyms taken over for 4days+ with 1k+ cp on each of them and 1 is in a main city(400k+ppl) at a pub which is in austrian style like october fest(v famous) and no1 took over it, tbh i aint even going for gyms, most high level players waste their whoal day luring atm, dont waste ur time going for cp b4 level 25

21, but atm to be a high level at this stage of the game, u should be 25 in the us, for eu, my lvl is good, but overall its not

 

Gyms are too easy your right. im level 15 and i just biked round my whole town and took every single gym for red team. Some people were level 20+ i still beat them.

 

Imagine a gym near you reached level 8 and was impossibly strong to take over. Nobody would attempt gym takeovers, part of the game (revives/potions etc) would be wasted as everyone would feel they are too 'OP' or wait until they finally got 2000cp pokemon, which would mean the game may lose players faster. So keeping the gyms rather easy to takeover makes the game more fun imo. Idc if my gyms get takenover, just go ahead and retake them
