Found somekind of aviation explosive [need help]

So yeah, i found this goodie and dunno if its harmful or something, anyone have experience in those? Cleaned it up abit, was full of dirt around it.

 

it seems to be a missile of some sort, dangerous very it migth still have charge in it of gun powder but then again it has alot of rust into it where e did you find it ?

 

lol, i would not keep that indoors, just to be safe.

also, arent you supposed to call the bomb disposal unit for something like that?

 

I live like 50km from the fields where SSRS tanks were kept in, and we accidently found it where mud started to collapse. My friend who was with me when I found told its not dangerous, but i just needed to know if its really. It looks really cool irl tbh, its like 30-40 kgs weight.

 

1. Climb on top of your house with the explosive
2. Drop explosive off your house
3. ???
4. Profit

Honestly, it probably isn't dangerous anymore, but if you are going to keep it in your house then you should have a professional check it out.

Do not keep that thing indoors, let alone your house, lol! Explosives can remained active for decades, even those from centuries ago could still be potent. As a explosive ages, it is more likely that it could explode randomly or while being handled, due to the parts inside deteriorating, especially the detonator. You should call in the bomb squad I think, or else you may live to regret it one day... I hope for the best.

Dude, first of all, take that thing out of your house just for safety. Store it somewhere not too far from your house, who knows what could happen. And yes, bombs could be active for years. Most important thing you must never do is drop that bitch. Take it safely and carefully outside and hide it somewhere if you want nobody to find it. Then call the bomb squad or whatever they call them and ask them about. Even if they put you on t.v or some stupid crap like that, it's better than losing your house or your life.

 

I think that thing is a mortar round.

 

Dunno how big mortar can be, but its near 70cm long and 30-40 kgs.

Try and do some research on it and if that doesn't help, call any specialist (doesn't have to be near you) just to get some advice on what to do with it. If you live really far from anything like that and don't want to pay the toll for the call, just use Google phone on Gmail. It's a little phone icon on the left panel in Gmail.

 

I did some research today, me and my friend opened the upper side, dunno how to say it in english, but the detonator was somekind of removed, it was full of dirt inside, so theres only metal left, im going to show for my dad when he gets back (hes in army) in 2 months, he know more than me about these things for sure. Anyways, it look very cool and im going to keep it, im just curious if cops can do anything to me if they ever see it in my yard/house ?

 

Its a WW2 Mortar, and from the size u mentioned, its a heavy round which has a blast radius of ~200 Meters. Be Careful as even with the detonator taken out, it can still go off, due to the deteriation of the explosives if there are any still inside. Keep it out of your house, and store it in the back garden. It is enough to destroy an entire house if it goes off.

 

^ Theres nothing inside. We opened the head, you can see a hole in a pic, I put screwdiver in there and pushed and it turned out, there was nothing but dirt inside, I cleaned it all and theres no space for any explosives.
