Gun Control in the US

Writing an essay about it for History class.
It would be great if someone could tell me their view on the gun control debate, or their own proposal and why.

 

i think the gun control laws are fine right now but I don't think that they're enforced as well as they could be

 

The 'right to bear arms' was drafted during a period of war and hardships.

It is arguably not as relevant anymore in today's society, as the manner in which guns are used and society's views on them have changed considerably.

 

Would be great if you could compare the 2 time eras to each other. Thats the angle I would go with.

 

Which 2 time areas?

 

i think he means back when they were writing the constitution and put the
2nd amendment in it and compare gun usage in that time to now

 

Can you guys give some more ideas?

Right now for my expository essay, my bodies are:
-Second Amendment drafted in 1700s, new times need new laws
-Lots of gun-caused deaths in America caused by criminal's easy access to firearms
-My proposal

 

In my opinion most gun laws are fine at the moment. The only thing I would change is the Possession of Firearms charge, even though it is already a felony I think this should be taken more seriously as a lot of people still ignore it.
