Guitar covers by MegaMatt

[MegaMatt]

I play a shitload of guitar. I occasionally get asked by Sythe members to show some videos/recordings of me playing, so I created this thread. I used to have a thread like this, but it was getting too annoying to constantly update (I now have 110+ videos on Youtube, probably around 75% of which are covers), so I'm doing it again but only with my favourite ones. The majority of music I play is punk and ska, but I enjoy playing music from bands of different genres as well (Franz Ferdinand, Muse, Iron Maiden, etc)

Guitars I use: 2004 Gibson Les Paul Studio
Epiphone Les Paul Standard w/ Bigsby tremolo

Equipment:
(Current) Line 6 Spider IV 75 Watt Amp, w/FBV Shortboard Mk.II (Switch board with 4 channels, effects, wah/volume pedal)

(Old and retired) Traynor DG 15 Watt amp, occasionally with a Boss DS-1 Distortion pedal, no longer used after December 2010.

In order from newest to oldest (Keep in mind the quality and my level of skill will get progressively worse as you get farther down. I've mastered most of the older covers that might seem sloppy):

[Warlace]

I watched the second to last. It's really good.

[MegaMatt]

Killing in the name? Thanks haha, that recording is really old. My band usually covers it when we play live.

[Lmao Really]

Nice man, There are all pretty good. I liked the blink 182 - stay together cover alot.

Also, Nice Element shirt

Edit: Also The offspring - Get it right

[MegaMatt]

Thanks guys, 2 new ones

[TahBreezy]

I watched the first two. How long have you been playing the guitar? Were classes involved? Great skills!

[MegaMatt]

I've been playing seriously for about 3 years, but I've been fooling around on them for about 5-6. I'm almost 100% self taught, the only thing I had help with was learning how to read tabs.

[Armada]

Wow you're good, I love sublime.

Doin' time by them is a sick song

[Rawrasaurus]

I listened to the first 2, and although I generally listen to more heavy music, I quite liked the songs you played. I've always wanted to learn to play guitar, but I'm not self-motivated nor committed enough. Good luck improving and I hope you keep at it

[T V]

Wow, very nice axe and awesome musical selection o.o

[madmax5213]

nice man, your pretty good i dont really like any of those songs but the offspring, bad religion. i would love to see you play some shit like eric johnson - cliffs of dover, stairway to heave, van halen

[T V]

What did you use to record the audio/video?

[MegaMatt]

Some Sony HD camera for all of them since 2010. The rest was on a different digital camera. I play most of the backing music through a Sony iPod dock, used a Bose one and laptop speakers for some

[Mantitz]

stay together for the kids is the first song i learned its a good place to start at
