Guides MUST be verified

Partly agree/partly disagree.

I sold a good 5 copies of my guide when it was unverified, the first copy I gave out for free, the guy said it was legit and worked, then I started charging for it, people took the risk and paid $5 or 5m rsgp for it, all of them said it worked, it snowballed more and more, I was selling more, then eventually I found someone who wasn't busy who could verify it, and I got it verified. It took a few days for me to find someone who was online and not busy, I made quite a lot of money in that time, and those 5 vouches probably meant more to people than the fact that it was in the verified section. If you were not allowed to sell unverified guides, I think the section would just mess up, and people would simply start posting guides in the free section, and say something like "for the rest of the guide add me and i'll sell to you" or "for this guide, add [email protected] and i'll sell it to you"

However, there are a lot of guides that give false claims, so I think you should not be allowed to claim something unless they have proof. You should not be allowed to say how effective something is at winning stakes, or at getting an account unbanned because it is impossible to prove. But for money making guides and guides on how to train, you should be allowed to post them without verification. A lot of the time people will exaggerate on money making guides, so that they sell more of them, but if people do not put how much it can theoretically earn, they wouldn't sell any.

tl;dr very difficult situation, unsure how you could change it without problems, unsure if it is worth the risk.

So you're saying 19/20 people are scammers on Sythe.org? There are way more legit people than this. And there would be way more guides being sent in than 1 per day. People are making more and more guides per day, and the guide system the way it is, is fine. We just need more OGV's, because of the high demand on them.

 

i agree, even if this does not go through, the unverified guide section needs to be cleaned up

 

I think that would be unfair to alot of people, it already takes from 1-30 days to get someone to verify a guide, try mixing every single person who's selling a guide in the mix and your going to be waiting years before you can sell your below average guide on how to pick flax.

 

Maybe now that Nate is a global we might see some change since he's been trying to do something about the guide section for a great while.

Also, if there isn't any major changes to the section, the ogv list needs to be re-made. Tmoe and Sengria have verified practically every guide in the verified section. Gohan is extremely busy doing everything so verifying guides don't come last, but since he already has a "job" to do, he does that first and then has time for guides. From my two attempts to get a guide verified, Greg just ignores you unless you pretend you want something involving him making money. Not to bash him, but he either should tell people he's busy or verify guides, or take his name off the list.

/End rant. But I do agree with everyone who say the guide section needs re worked. Maybe add more non-moderators to the list since moderators are busy as it is, especially since a lot of them are omm's.

 

Why not make it a moderated forum like Community General? After it's verified, it is approved and can be seen by everyone. If it's fake, or not verified, it simply won't be approved and won't show up.

Agreed, Get Official guide verifiers or Guide Mods,

who's sole purpose is to verify that guides work,

Then this rule could be implemented.

 

Yea get more people to verify them, I'm not sure why user educators are not awarded the privilege of doing it seems their application is based on guides.

 

User Educators verifying guides would be great. I support that.

I completely agree with you they should have to be verified. Rather than having an unverified guide section there should be a verify your guide section where they post and dedicated people or chosen people can verfiy their guide then they can sell it. Alot of people fall for guides that don't deliver or guides that simply are made up. Thankfully I and alot of others arnt so stupid.

 

I agree with this. It seems that in actual fact, a User Educator would be better applicated for the job.

 

UE guide verification would be great.
