So, some of you have seen my guide on how to be a beastly drummer on Rockand. But there are still millions of people who play the guitar and bass on
RB, and that guide was useless to them. So, I decided to make a guide for

Beginner Strategies

Just because tons of people play the guitar on RB, doesn't mean they're all good at it. So we're gonna start off easy and talk about beginner strategies for all you first timers out there. The first thing you need to do is make sure your guitar strap is set so that the guitar is hanging somewhere around your waist. This makes it easier for you to play, and doesn't make your arms hurt after a long session of playing. Once comfortable with your guitar, you need to practice "Fretting". The art of holding your fingers down on the right button and then strumming. Give your fingers a warm up by fretting randomly for about 30 seconds. Now you're ready to play. After starting the song, make sure you get ready for the notes. If you see a note coming, you can hold down the fret before it reaches you, and then strum at the right time. This makes your accuracy sky rocket, instead of fretting right when you need to strum.
More difficult songs

You're gonna have to face harder songs eventually. And there is nothing to worry about, it's just more practice for you to get better. Again, make sure you warm up your fingers before playing, because with each step up in difficulty, there will be more notes, more KINDS of notes, and the notes will be coming faster. Be prepared for lots of strumming, and fretting faster. Sometimes there will be REALLY fast note sequences, and you'll need to strum up AND down. Make sure you stay with the rythm though, and if you need to, listen to the REAL song so you have an idea on what to play.
Faster Playing

I mentioned strumming up and down earlier, and we're gonna revisit it now. There will be very fast note sequences of the same color note. So what you have to do is hold down that particular fret and strum up and down. The harder the diffuclty, the faster they'll get. Sometimes you need to strum up and down in a flurry. This is extremely difficult on Hard and Expert, as sometimes you can barely move your hand that fast...for now. Keep practicing that movement, and you'll be shredding in no time.

"But ATG, how can I tell which ones are which?" Well, the hammer ons and pull offs appear as *SMALLER* notes, and all you need to do is press the fret button [NOT STRUMMING!] when you should strum the note. It will hit the note for you. Same with pull offs. The hammers ons, however, are when you go to the higher notes [Green to red to yellow] and "Hammer" on the frets. The pull offs are when you go from high to low [Orange to blue to yellow] and "pull off" of the notes. Simple.
