I've never had that problem.

 

on my level 3 skiller i did agility 1-99, had barbarian from 35-85.
but on my main i did 50-85 at Ape toll alot faster, even better than wilderness course :S

i would recommend ape toll not wilderness

 

the food would probobally be eaten by the time you get the mystery box :S
as it is there for a purpose.

but true for other bots

Boots of lightness are free, and spotted capes if you have decent hunter.
