Guide to a good interview​

A basic point of an interview is for the interviewer to learn if you are the right person for the job or in another case, right for the place at college. To see what kind of person you are and whether they like you or not.

Preparation.

"Failing to prepare, is preparing to fail"

You must prepare for your interview, as the quote says, failing to prepare, is preparing to fail. Be prepared for the questions that they are going to ask you, you should be able to guess the kind of questions they are going to ask you and you can practise with a family member or friend.

You should always ask questions yourself, show that you are interested in the job or the college course. Show that your not shy and not afraid to ask questions.

Research about the company or college. Its always a good idea to research about the place first, because more than likely they will tell you alot of information about the company or college and if you show that your already up to date with all the information, it will make a good impression.

Make sure you look the part, dont turn up in your scruffs. I recommend you wear something casual. Jeans and a nice top is perfect, unless your going for a job interview and you should wear a suit or jeans and a shirt.

This is a MUST. Make sure your on time. Its better to be early than to be late. Being late gives them a bad impression about you and you dont want that. They will think your awful at time keeping and you dont want that.

Where to find information about the company or college.

You can always find information about the company or college on the internet. The World Wide Web is very good these days and most companies and college's have websites. They will display all the information you will need. Local liberies and news papers are a good source of information about things too, you should defanitely keep an eye out for these.

Interview Tips - Presentation

Of course you want to look the part, but dont go in over dressed. If you are going for a college interview, your young, dress like you would normally if you was going out for a meal or going cinemas, casual is always best. On the other hand, if your going for a Managing Director possition, obviously a suit is your best bet.

Interview Tips - Travel

Try to arrive around 10-20 minutes early, give a good first impression. Dont leave your travel troubles till the last minute. Plan out your day a couple of days before the big day. Make sure you have a mobile phone and a contact number just incase you are late or cant find the place of your interview. To prevent this, you could plan out your route and do it a day before.

Summary

Show interest to everything your interviewer says and to all aspects of the business or college. Always smile, never look miserable. First impressions are a big thing for interviews, and remember, manors cost nothing.

This is actually pretty good. You should go in depth a bit more, you easily can. You could elaborate more on attire and elaborate on Personality, Presentation, Qualifications, Background, Enthusiasm. For example; your personality is a very important aspect during an interview. People who come off as nice and friendly interest the interviewer more so than someone who is snide and distant. The interviewer will be more inclined to chose someone who is someone they would enjoy being around, someone who has similarities with the interviewer.

That's just my insight, I thought you did a good job, but you could add a lot to this guide to reach it's full potential. Nice job.
