The head needs to be very willing to remove people, depending on the amount coming in of course. If people know that they will be removed if they slack I would think they would work harder or step down to avoid the shame of being booted?

I think it's a good way to improve the sythe guides - and market in general. In my experience in the RS market, I'd say the guides are the weakest part; it definitely needs to change.

I'd love to see a head guide in charge setting things up. Nate, if you need any help or someone to just put the time into this project, feel free to let me know!

Keep up the good work, mate.

The checklist should include if it's posted anywhere/known anywhere etc, and the verifier should know how to find these as well . Just something I wanted to add :3

i visited guide section today and in the non verified ones, there are 3204435435 guides "make 45345634563456 per hour!!!!!". they all sound the same to me. we should bring back requirement that anything over 5m must get verified.

That requirement should not be brought back, instead this suggestion should be put in place, it would make it more safe either way.

    Someone didnt read :p

"In addition to the way verifiers are acquired and maintained, new systems for verifying would be implemented. There would be a "checklist" for each guide verifier to fill out before a guide is considered verified. This would include:

-Knowing what guides are on the do not sell list to make sure the guide can be sold.
    - If the guide is already being sold by another member and it has been verified, run a quick scan to ensure that the member is not ripping a guide and selling it as his own.
-If the guide is not being sold or passes the previous check, then a basic google/youtube search of the guide be done. This includes searching a few different variations of the title of the guide to ensure that it is not leaked on the web somewhere.
-Once this is all done, then the verifier is free to actually test the method to make sure it works."

I don't interact with that section, but you've presented some good points. You have my full support.

I wish you the best of luck.

I stay far away from the guide section, and for good reason. You hit the nail on the head with this post far too many scammers, con artists and just plain idiots try to make quick cash there. As current the guide verifiers are well, just not doing the best job, and we can't leave all the blame on the rs mods either. Admins have better things to do with their time, so this solution actually makes alot of sense. 100% support, something has to be done. One bleeding section has an effect on Sythe.org as a whole.

Plznate, the "pod" idea is one I've had for a bit and since there hopefully will be a change, this is something that could go along well with it.

Basically it would also require a verifier rank, with no abilities but to see this thing I'm about to describe. The rank could be invisible (Not sure if this is possible).

When someone makes a guide, they would be required to add an "attachment" to the guide, which would be screenshots of the complete guide. I don't know how this would work, or if it can. If it can't then there would be a separate section called "Guide Verification". Here users can post the guide and no one but moderators and "Guide Verifiers" can see the guides, much like the dispute forums. When someone posts their guide in there they are basically asking a verifier to verify it. The verifier takes the precautions listed in the first post and gets the guide thread moved. The thread with just the SS's is kept there that way it can be checked for future reference, and two identical guides don't get verified, or two overlap eachother.

Interesting. The second part about them submitting the guide to the forum for review may be possible, not sure about the first one SMR would be the go to man on that I think.

Yeah, I thought you could add an attachment to a post, but it actually wouldn't be needed if the second idea was implemented. It would save the Verifiers from PM's and they can just go in there and either verify or deny the guide, making the process go faster.

Definitely need new set of OGV and i would like to be part of the team -- took me almost a week to get my guide looked at and instead of verifying my thread was randomly closed, thankfully people bought the guide and I have enough vouches to do w/o needing verification, but its annoying nonetheless.

100% Support. Even though I really want to be an OGV, I'd be okay if this suggestion is implemented.

I fully support this, people can just create threads in the unverified section and sell it for 30m when it might not work.

I would love to be a OGV
