    Graphics Section Adjustments

In the GFX Sales and Giveaways forum, it is hard to get your voice heard among the noise.

The market is full of people who just picked up photoshop, copy an image, distort is somewhat, add some text and then are all the sudden putting up their own sig shop, this makes it extremely difficult for users who know what they're doing with photoshop to get their voice heard with all the flooding.

Unlike the other markets here at Sythe, graphics require a certain amount of skill to perform. Where as anyone can sell pins, not everyone can make a piece of art.

What I am suggesting is that users who are recognized as being significantly skilled in photoshop have their own sub-forum, where not just anyone can post. There are several ways to approach this.

    - New user rank, Artist or something, only Artists can start threads in this new sub forum.
    - Split Sales and Giveaways, once a user has submitted a certain amount of free work, and a GFX mod (or whomever) approves they can then post in the sales.
    - Something else I didn't think of.

Another thing, the Graphics section is dead. Long gone are the days where there were 8 minimum posts for signature of the week, every week. The last SOTW was 2 months ago. I miss looking forward to the friendly challenge of trying to make a sig better then someone else.
The graphics section needs some new, or additional moderation. There are only 2 Graphic Mods, and one of those two is a moderator for something else, how can we expect him to focus on a dying sub-forum (No offense Tribal).
Sythe is what got me started on graphics, and I would hate for other people to not get started on it because of the inactivity. Something needs to change.

I do not approve of a new rank of Artist, but I do support a subsection for skilled artist, and when making a thread there your thread must be approved by a GFX moderator.

99% of the graphics section is signatures. I reccommend finding an art-related forum, as any chance of having a decent graphics area on sythe is none existant.

    It would be far easier, and more reasonable, to create five sub-forums;

    1. Basic Free Works - New Users giving free tags here.
    2. Advanced Free Works - Advanced users giving free tags here.

    1. Basic Paid Works - $5 USD tags, basic quality.
    2. Advanced Paid Works - $10 USD tags, Advanced or better quality.
    3. Professional Works - Undetermined cost, Professional services.

I don't feel like being active in more than one forum, or gaining respect all over again. Sythe had quite a Graphics section 2 years ago, I'm just trying to resurrect it.
True, like I stated I am just tired of the flooding. But then again, mods hate to create tons of sub-forums. I personally like the idea.

And Harped, basically what I was aiming at, I really don't care how it happens, as long as it does.

If the section is dying, then why add a new rank and sub forum? My section is slow-moving too but adding new stuff to it won't necessarily add production to it.

Yes finally! Somebody who understands! There are like 20 people (prob more) who are charing $5-$10 for a siple sig tat sucks hair balls. Literally. It's like 10 secs of work. Taking an image, getting a cool font, and done. "$5 please"
I used to charge like $1 per sig and mine are a lot better then others, but there is a lot of people posting so it's hard to get recognized. I approve of all your things you said up there. And yeah, no offence T R 1 B A L (really, not at all, your a great guy) but your kinda inactive in the Graphics showcase. Kiabin is doing a good job, though.
