Guide not as it was presented.

First off, this is the thread of the guide: http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=801358

Proof that I bought the guide: http://i50.tinypic.com/2vb7gh2.png

I just sold a royal crown for a "transfer" guide and $1 paypal. Well, I've reviewed the guide and it turns out it was hardly what it seemed. I first noticed this by figuring out that the seller loses NO cash. Clearly, it's not a transfer, as a transfer implies a transfer of wealth from one account to another, obviously. What it really is is a "joint money making guide". Through two accounts you both make cash, but there is no transfer. The seller even admitted that when I confronted him, and he still refuses to give me a refund.

When I bought the guide it was in trust that it was a transfer method, not some "joint account money making guide" crap. I really hope you can force him to issue me a refund, it also says his msn on his userbar thing. If you need any more information please ask.

Thanks a lot for viewing my thread. I'm hoping I can get a refund rather than ban.

I was pmed regarding this, and I'm not sure why he should get a refund. As littlefreak pointed out, he went first, not the buyer, so if they buyer of the guide didn't like the guide after he got it, he shouldn't have completed the trade (hence the point of him going second). There was no risk involved for him, and he had ample opportunity to look at AND verify the guide was in fact an xfer guide. Yes, perhaps the seller had some faulty wording in the title/thread, but does he need to give a refund to someone who clearly used the guide anyways, and went second in the trade?

I'm hoping Skele can answer some of these questions. I don't really know where to lean in this case, because both sides are making a good argument. The fact is though, FFF had the opportunity on more than one occasion to realize it wasn't an xfer guide (between going second and asking numerous questions about the guide after completing the trade, including actually using the method in the guide). Just my thoughts, I'm looking for some others at this point. :\

You see, what actually happened was I received the guide then immediately gave him the crown because I had to rush off for an exam. I got back 4 hours later and decided to test out the guide. After gathering the materials and versing myself with the method, I started to realize the true nature of it. I did NOT use it even once. If you see the types of questions I was asking they were mostly to make sure my accounts could do the method. Faulty wording? The whole guide was different. If he had told me that it was a joint gp method I would NEVER have bought it. I bought the guide in trust that I was receiving a transfer method and I didn't. Isn't that reason enough for a refund? In common law it is.

Hmm, well, the way I see it both people are at fault here. The seller should have mentioned that the uses of the guide can go both ways, for money-making as well as transferring. It's the buyer's fault for not reading through the guide directly after the purchase and recognizing that it goes both ways.

In light of the fact that neither party is right in their accusations, I do not believe a refund should be issued since the guide can in fact be used as a transfer method as well.

EDIT: The seller is the one who told me the guide can go both ways. If it can't, then there should still be no refund since the buyer used the guide before reading through it which is his own fault.

This is exactly what I was thinking, but I'm waiting for Skele to get on and post.

The guide can not go both ways. A transfer means a transfer of wealth. It's a joint gp method -- that's it. I told the guy during the trade that I had to go for an exam and I'd read it when I get home, that was given. The way I see it the guide is completely different than how it was presented; it's not a transfer guide in the slightest.

Please read the previous posts on the thread. I haven't used the method even once. Maybe the seller is lying to you. All I did was put in an offer for mats so they would be done when I got back from my exam.

Without revealing the guide I'll tell you the essence of the "transfer".

Let's say a guy is making money turning granite into smaller pieces. He starts grinding the pieces, and sells some on the g/e. He goes on grinding pieces and decides he's going to instead of selling them to the g/e for EXACTLY the same price, sell them in trade to another guy (they're not junk). The other guy goes and sells them to the g/e, equaling no transfer of wealth. This is a damn money making guide. How the hell is this a transfer?

After a series of PM's, I've decided that both users are at fault and no refund should be given.

The seller should have been clearer on his thread, however, the guide did involve a transfer of GP in a way as you guys are trading items and doing something and then trading it back to be sold on the GE.

    ...I hate dealing with guides.
