It's really flat and there is no flow. The smudging is way oversharpened and I don't like the border. You should try to add in more elements than just smudging. Maybe put in a fractal or possibly just a pentooled shape. Then you can start to establish foreground, midground, and background elements that you can blur and sharpen. You can also do some burn/dodging that will help with lighting which also prevents the piece from being as flat looking.

The text isn't good placement. It should help draw your eye to the focal but not overpower the focal. If you notice a lot of artists don't really do text unless it is a typographical piece, because text is difficult to make compliment a sig.

    Just keep working at it.

    EDIT:

Take this tag that Spray did recently. He combines C4Ds in with his smudging that helps with the flow. I think that the depth, lighting, and atmosphere in the piece can be improved but it is the foundation of a great tag. Notice the coloring and the flow, then take note of the composition of the elements and how they aren't exactly centered. They hit the major powerpoints of the image according to the rules of the third.

Lol honoured, thanks man. What nero said for sure, all the smudge effects so far look backgroundish, and you could easily add some foreground to the piece.

you could add some sprite shapes and blend them in your picture. Example: Add a few signs or circles (stock) and blend them in as a different colour (Ex: green) so as your sig doesnt look all 1 toned.
