Great Site...with some flaws

Sythe is an amazing site. I love how it is such a big community and were you can get help from so many people. But in all communitys, there are the criminals. The scammers. The asswipes. Sythe has one to many of these, and I think you guys should perhaps get a new group along the lines of "Scammer Detectors" or something like that, who just go and review threads and try to catch the scammers by perhaps asking for services or something and trying to root out the scammers before they really effect someone. Also perhaps get a faster server cuz the one its on seems to die alot =| But otherwise I am really enjoying my stay here. Thanks Sythe for making this amazing site, and I wish you luck in making it even better. :laugh:

I don't really use sythe for the black market. Too many scams happen there so I just use sythe for the community.

 

Yea I am beginning to learn more and more about the black market. And its not in such a good way =(

 

I hate scammers, So many on sites like this too, just reember to always use a MM

 

I suggest you PM a global mod if you find a thread where somebody is obviously going to scam.

 

As long as you use a "trusted" or official Middleman then your safe. And remember to ALWAYS request a PM(private message).

 

If you get scammed, it's your own damn fault. Pay attention to how they speak, what they're doing, the conditions they've set in place for the deal and generally how they act. If you feel at all uneasy about the trade, don't do it. Plain and simple. You can normally root out some scammers like that because after you quit the trade, they flame and swear at you.

 

Mods are scammer detectors, lol.

Good idea but pretty much impossible..How the hell would you detect scammers..

 

After seeing them for years, it's pretty obvious spotting the scammers or those who are going to scam.

 

I wouldnt be knock this thread idea off so fast. If you think about it mods or OMM's dont really look through some of the threads. I for one look in the black market everyday and i spot atleast 5 obvious scammers in just one look and no mod or OMM has said anything or investigated. I believe this would help sythe and its loyal non scamming members out alot. Because 1. OMM's are kind of like insurance but they cost money. Some people dont have money to spend on one even though its usually not a outstanding fee for one. But i do believe this idea should be looked into and not thrown to the side. The "scam detectives" could add the suspicious looking people that seem to be scammers and simply do some research and help out alot of people loosing money and there time. Cause im sure everyone has lost tons of mins/hours on talking to scammers arguing about how the trades going down etc.. These "detectives" could solve all of that time wasting and make sythe a even more user friendly site with even less scammers, and we all know we want that. So..Just my thoughts

Detectives obviously coundt just say hey this guys trying to scam ban him. Theyd have to have somee proof.

 

this wouldnt get rid of scammers some scammers play it like a normal person.

 

Think about it seriously guys, it is something i have thought about myself. setting up some new accounts (with the permissions of the admins as well as a log of them all and what use they will have/who will control it etc) and basically
a) post trying too buy off suspected scammers
b) post newbish looking threads in the gold exchange and account exchange forums

i dont know how the donations are going but perhaps a bit of the in game gold could be donated too allow for this too take place. i personally could provide some funding for the sake of at least TRYING too weed out scammers.

also another option could be too re-work the markets a bit, for example have a section which has very strict criteria in reguards too the requirements too post too sell an account there. People could post in the regular markets and once they meet the criteria either
a) post in a sticky of
b) pm a mod

too have it moved too the verified forums, before this can take place they must submit the username and password too an official MM or admin/mod who will logon and verify there are no recoveries and so on.

in this way we could at least TRY too offer a saferISH market environment...

as for gold sellers and so on refer too the first point i made.

It would be a waste of time, if people were smarter in trades it wouldn't happen.

 

What about the people who have never been here before and are truly just looking to buy a account or sell theres? They do not know how this community can be at times.
