Hacking is different than basically going through and buying your own things. And I don't believe there's a limit to selling ? All tho killa violence(TheGopher) might disagree, but I haven't hit that "limit" for selling. For buying yes seeing as I'm a merchant, as for this GE thing you posted....well, pretty useful with the right amount of money.

in a way this is a hack since you are influencing the g.e. prices by yourself (which you arent supposed to be able to do.)

 

Surely if you can sell to yourself, then you wouldn't lost out? You would pay 17k for scim and still have the the 17k since you bought the scim?

 

i dont think it works anymore unless you have about 600m to buy everything of something

Even though you can buy/sell to yourself, it's just a few lines of server code to prevent it influencing the market price. If someone can show the long term effects of using this technique, if it raised the price, that would be more interesting.

 

Wouldn't someone be able to trade to their other account? ( Like sell a needle for 50k or something and the other acc buys? )

 

Have you EVER used the GE? for fucks sake.

Due to buy/sell limitations, you can't even manipulate the market with two accounts, let alone one.

As mentioned before, this CANNOT significantly affect the market price.
