My dad doesn't care. I have smoked with him before. I get him weed regularly. He'd rather me smoke than drink also.

 

Perhaps you're right, but people do have different ethical standards, and part of that includes what you do with yourself.

As for carcinogens there are ways to reduce them to near nil, vapourising and water-filtration being the main ones. Vapourisers essentially just give you pure THC.

now smoking weed has been linked to schizophrenia, not being bipolar
and, like you said, it unearths a pre-existing condition. it does not create schizophrenic symptoms out of nowhere.
also, cases where weed unearths pre-existing conditions is extremely rare.

as for alcohol, that can unearth many pre-existing conditions, such as severe depression and anti-social personality disorder.


also, lets not forget DSM diagnostic criteria:

in order to be diagnosed as having schizophrenia:
- the disturbance is not due to the direct physiological effects of a substance or a general medication.

 

In my opinion weed is better then drinking.

 

So your parents condone an illegal activity... good parenting right there.

 

Agreed. I think it would be much better to educate your children. I was told nothing about drugs when growing up, except to not do them because they're bad etc etc. I smoked weed a few times, realised it was nowhere near as bad as people had been telling me, so i continued to smoke it.

My parents know i smoke weed. They don't just let me smoke up in the house, IF i ever have weed in the house, which is rare, and i do smoke it, it will always be in the garden. And my parents know they can't stop me smoking weed, so they've just come to accept it, rather than always cause arguments about it.

 

That's dope man My dad's the same way, but I live with my mom.

The one thing I will say is that you should be careful with it. It's not that you're going to OD or anything like that, but it's easy to turn away from the world and replace it with drug use; even weed.

 

This is exactly how my parents are. They dont particularly agree with me smoking. But they do know it would be hard to prevent it, and instead of doing it behind their back they would rather me be honest with them.
