How do people make Bots?

Hi,

Title says all.. I'm just curious to see how difficult it is and if I have any chance at it. And if I am breaking any rules of any type just let me know because im fairly new. Thanks!

 

They script them.

 

The difficulty depends what bot you are scripting for. You can probably do it but it seems like you're going to need to be spoon fed - I can tell by you posting a topic to figure this question out.

 

Are you asking howto make a Bot (like KBot, RSBot, SCAR, etc.), or howto make a script for a bot. The reason I ask is because the two people above seem to think that you're asking about making a script for a bot.

If you're asking about making a bot- It really depends. You won't have any chance of making a good, scriptable bot, but you could probably make a simple auto-talker in, or a simple autoClicker.

If you're asking about making a script- It's super easy if you know what you're doing. There are guides everywhere on how to script for a bot, so I doubt you would have any trouble at all.

 

Learn to program and go from there. I suggest VB.net to start with, then move on to C# and then things like Java and C++.

Why does everybody say scripting? The proper term is programming.

 

I believe the top guy was talking about actual scrips for bots, in which case, it is called scripting and not programming.

But to the OP, they usually have a lot of prior programming knowledge with Java and other languages (not sure which ones are actually used to make the bot; might be one of the C's). It's quite difficult without knowing what you're doing and then it's still probably difficult if you do know because of all the bugs.

 

I'd just use other peoples' bots, they're sufficient.

 

The truth is they spend 24 hours a day in their mom's basement programming the bot....

I say it's better than spending 24 hours a day in any other room of the house playing Runescape as it takes knowledge to make a bot.

It really depends what type of bot you're making.

You could make a really crappy vB autoclicker with next to no knowledge of anything, or you could make an amazing scriptable bot in Java with no knowledge of any other language.

 

Take this guy's advice, I believe he's programming a bot himself.

It's called scripting, a long boring process.

 

Sounds very confusing.. I did try Programming a little while ago with Java and all, it is very complex as you all say. With scripts and everything.. If there is any way I could possibly "learn" from someone or something. That would be cool.

Just learn to program bots, or script scripts

there are many guides, google them. Start java for RS

 

First learn a programming language, do not think of making a bot yet. Once you learn most of the methods of the language you have chosen you think about how you can use those methods in combination to work together and do what you want. It is a very long process and there is no 1 click bot maker out there.
