In your last post you basically said you dislike it because of it being easier because melodies are easier to play. An why bring up lyrics? you were arguing against instrumental skills. and if you want to get into lyrics I believe just about every single melo death band I have heard has by far better lyrics than tech death.

 

Well I'm not sure if you would consider these bands good metal but I like Nightwish and Dimmu Borgir a lot.

 

I agree with Swan SOAD and Slipknot are not very good bans I donot listen to much heavy metal or metal so I cant really list any good 1s sorry.

 

Dimmu is good I believe I personally like all there albums for the most part but people lately I noticed like there older stuff a lot more.

 

Heh, good thread going hear. I'm sick of kids at school who think they're "metalheads" because they listen to Slipknot, Disturbed, and some other shit. Also anyone here listen to "Beautiful Sin"? I can't seem to find many people who listen to them. >.<

I didn't even mention lyrics... I didn't mention instrumental skills, don't assume I even care about instrumental skills because it's the last thing on my mind when I listen to something. I wont waste my time here, I just said I don't really like much melo death and see it as something overrated.

Why don't you think about the skills of the musicians? That matters alot. If there's some sloppy double bass or generic and boring drum-fills or a chord is played flat, I would consider it bad music.

 

A well known band isn't going to have these problems you mention, except maybe the boring generic part which most well known bands have and that has nothing to do with skill on an instrument just a lack of creativity.

 

cannibal corpse isnt death metal its death core big difference... Punk rock ftw though or grind core.... but as far as metal pornogrind!!!!!! lol it rocks... and for death metal of course dethklok from metalocolpyse lol.... good show.. and if anyone mentions jfacb as good band omfg ill get mad they suck

 

You don't know death metal, Dethklok is death metal, and it's pretty good, but if it's the only dm band you can name drop, then don't bother.

 

My favorite metal bands:

Metallica, Children of Bodom, Megadeth, Maiden, Sabbath, ACDC, Judas Priest, Dio, Pantera, Skid Row, Korn, White Zombie, and Accept.

O left some out those r just what I could think of.

Metal is my favorite genre, but I listen to everything. Goregrind, Deathcore, Hardcore, DM, Black Metal, Grindcore.

BTW, Dream Theater is Progressive Rock, but they still own.

 

Bathory, Burzum, Horna, Mustan Kuun Lapset, Dark Funeral anyone?

A bunch of crap and very overrated. Also I met these guys in a bar and Galder was an asshole. ._. Their first album is ok and that's about it.

 

I like dimmu a lot, not sure how there over-rated, There not my favorite but definately worth mentioning. Definately not a bunch of crap.
