Good Desktop Microphone??

Title pretty much says it all, Just looking for a decent microphone for recording and gaming. Know of any?​

 

I would recommend getting a headset or you will get a lot of background noise, especially when gaming.

 

Most "professional" youtubers use A40s or other high-end headsets for live-recordings (recording while playing).

But when they want to record a post-commentary, they usually use high-quality condenser microphones such as the Blue Yeti, Audio-Technica ATR-2020, etc. That way, they can edit the audio to eliminate the background noise, and have that crisp audio that you usually hear.

It's a good value, comfy, and no one ever has trouble hearing me. I've never recorded with it so I'm not sure how good the sound quality is though.

 

I use my headset mic if I need to talk to someone or whatever. I own a Logitech G35 gaming headset, might be out of your price range, though its very good.

 

I'm not too fond of headsets.

I do like the look of the blue yetis and the Audio-Technica 2020, Has anyone used them or has opinions about them?

One question. Would the fact that the Audio Technica 2020 has a usb connector effect the quality of the mic?

I personally own an Audio-Technica ATR-2500. It's a lower-end 2020, but has the same, if not better audio quality than a blue yeti.

And yes, using USB versus analog does result in quality loss, but when it comes to high end microphones, the difference is minuscule.
