Reddit fiasco regarding streamer

anyone seen this? Absolute shitstorm over there atm. I don't play osrs but I read up on what modmatk did, and what the actual fuck? He's banning people that she tells him to.

So many more of people explains they did fuck all but got perm banned with no evidence and no appeal.

I think he's called mod Matt k, not sure though. Feel sorry for anyone who lost their account due to this

 

Most of this shit happened forever ago it's pretty much beating a dead horse at this point.

 

Is it, oh my bad. Was just having a look at Reddit and saw the absolute sheer number of posts from people who have been mugged off by jagex. Have they still not done anything then?

 

No and they probably won't, not that it matters or ever did. Just idiots on Reddit being idiots on Reddit.

 

Streamer favoritism is definitely a thing in oldschool. On the other hand, the osrs reddit has quite a following of witch hunters. Runescape has always had its drama though.

 

Anyone who feels the need to write a paragraphs-long rant about a video game needs to find something better to do with their time. This is just absurd

 

As soon as I saw who it was about I decided not to bother. This isn't the first time J Mods have banned people for player harassment and generally if someone receives a ban for it they've done it to a number of streamers on a number of occasions and make a habit out of doing so. It's pretty hard to feel sorry for them when their sole purpose on the game is annoying people and ruining streams which other people want to enjoy. In 2014 a bunch of people doing the same thing to Sparc Mac were banned and i'm fairly sure he's regarded as a much more high profile streamer yet nobody cared. They're taking this as more than it should be because Emily is involved and a lot of people don't like her. In the long run it doesn't matter and if people are going to cry when they get banned for harassing streamers than maybe they shouldn't do it. Of course Jagex is going to be on the side of someone getting them publicity vs. someone who is a toxic element in the community only out to ruin it for others.

 

Emil (the streamer in question) should honestly just stop playing. She faked cancer for donations and now she cries when people ridicule her for it.

Also, Mat K should hand in his resignation. He's corrupted as fuck and has no respect for the community. A good friend of mine got banned for 3 days for woodcutting near Emily when she was streaming. Apparently you're not allowed to do in-game activities if she's near.

Absurd.

 

Wait she faked cancer? Hell, she should die. Who the fuck fakes that shit? I have close friends who have had/have it and the way it wrecks a whole family is crazy, and extremely sad. To fake something like that, for money, is fucking ridiculous. Wtf.

MatK is doing his job, if they don't like Emily so much then leave her alone and stop watching her streams. Instead they take joy in making her streams miserable, really sadistic.

 

I was there, he was literally woodcutting (yes he knew she was woodcutting there too) and got some logs off of her tree.

 

This is a fair point Chloe. Soda does a great job of having a thick skin and patience what he does. I mean he can't even roam in WoW for 5 minutes before being flooded by hundreds of people and spam trading him etc, yet he doesn't pull the harassment card.

Jsand, the fact you are even trying to defend someone who faked cancer is beyond me. secondly, she is exactly that. A pussy who needs to grow the fuck up. who cares if people are trolling her, ffs. get a life, shit happens. What is happening to her isn't even bad, and yet she is destroying people's hard work. RS is some peoples life (not mine tbh) but all of that for trolling a streamer... wtf

 

Emily could easily end the "harassment" she gets if she would just show a medical record proving she had cancer, she could even censor out personal details, but at this point it's quite obvious she didn't have it. Someone who had beat cancer wouldn't ban the word from his/her twitch chat, they would be proud that they beat it.

Edit - She would probably get less hate if she came out and admitted she faked cancer but she wont do this because it would result in a permanent ban from Runescape and Twitch.

 

Following someone in the game and trolling is harassment, if you don't like the rules and how they're enforced by Jagex then too bad, it's there game. Comparing sodapoppin to Emily doesn't further your point. Did you read the chat logs? People follow soda because they like him and praise him, people follow Emily to tell her to die and to kill herself.

Btw, I'm not an Emily fan. Read the chat logs that were released by JMods, all of the bans were justified. Again, if you don't like her then don't watch the streams instead of following her to try and get a reaction.

Im not defending Emily at all, if she faked cancer then she should be banned on twitch like that guy who faked being on a wheelchair. But the toxic RS community shouldn't get a pass because they're trolling her. I watched a clip of the stream, literally 50 people all saying the N word, telling her to die, and all this other nonsense. it's ridiculous.

 

Btw, only 1 of the bans is perm, the rest are 2 - 7 days long. Read the mod replies on reddit and read the chat logs.

i can understand that, and actually the bans turned out to be less hype than i thought they were, i was lead to believe there were 100s of them. So whilst i understand where she is coming from in terms of people making fun of her, faking cancer isn't cool and really bad.

I haven't ever had it and touch wood wont but have friends who aren't even looking at the prospect of living out this decade because of it, its so heartbreaking. so whilst i see where you are coming from, i also kind of agree but cancer is a big thing and that pushes me into the "not support and won't ever support her" area

 

Nothing new. This community is very childish and has a mob mentality like no other. It's just a huge circle jerk.

 

I avoid reddit's runescape subreddit as much as I can, the place is a shit hole with terrible moderation and the same shit gets posted day after day
